Read the posts, looks like a good support forum, thank you. I am considering buying an HDHomerun Dual DVB-T tuner, but have a question. Does this device allow you to record multiple streams from each tuned multiplex, as I can with my Hauppauge HVR-1300 using GBPVR ? And if so, is there a limit on the number of simultaneous streams that can be recorded ? If this isn't possible, I think I'll wait for some HD PCI card tuner.

Update:
I'm answering my own question here I hope. Silicondust support gave me the following helpful reply:-
To the best of our knowledge, multirec does indeed work with the HDHomeRun in GB-PVR. The hardware supports it fully, and we have done some limited testing in the application and found that it worked.

The HDHomeRun hardware does not have any limit on what can be sent. The application basically tells it to send only certain portions of the stream, and the HDHomeRun sends them. The HDHomeRun is capable of sending a full DVB-T channel mux from each tuner, so sending something less than the full mux is no particular challenge. A full channel mux runs about 25Mbit/s, depending on the country, so 4 HDHomeRun tuners running at full load would saturate a 100Mbit network. If you plan to use more than 1 HDHomeRun, we recommend a gigabit connection between the network switch and the PC.

Silicondust Support
Thanks again for this forum, I'm sure I'll find the earlier posts in this thread useful in the near future Wink

I just upgraded to 1.4.7 and when I try to go into live tv through GBPVR it just goes to a blank screen for a few seconds and then back to the main menu. I have added the HD Homerun information to the BDA.ini already and the config sees them. I can view channels through the channel mapper in the config just not through GBPVR itself. I have attached my logs.

If you enable live preview mode, does it work?

9/11 survivor installed 1.4.7 and is trying to map HdHomerrun channels and receives error saying no channels found please check signal amd configuration. signal is fine in hdhomrun's quicktv viewer. Here is copy of .ini file. GBPVR is chosen a main application in HdHomerun. Copy of ini file is pasted here:

[Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 101BEECF-0]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 101BEECF-0
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

[Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 101BEECF-1]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 101BEECF-1
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

Any help getting this puppy going would be greatly appreciated.

cheers,

Did you try turning off your firewall? Typically, you need to make exception rules for NextPVR.exe and NRecord.exe to give full network access.

If you're just starting out, I think it would be better install the latest NPVR-2.2.6-Current-Patches-and-Getting-Started-Info

Thank you - that worked!Cool
Specifically, from hdhomerun's website, if this helps someone else, don't forget step 1 instructions for installing GBPRV for HdHomerun:

1. If you are running a software firewall (Windows Firewall, Zone Alarm, etc), add the following files to the exception list:
GBPVRRecordingService.exe
PVRX2.exe
Config.exe

homerhd, why as a new user would you consider the two year old GBPVR over NextPVR?

GBPVR seems to be working pretty well - can record, watch live, and play recordings, but can't rewind recordings (crashes system) or watch shows being recorded. GBPRV's recorded shows can be played/rewound, etc using MyHD dvr but not GBPVR. Any idea why GBPVR crashes when using dvr functions recordings?

cheers,
homerhd
