thanks mvallevand and fla the last patched gbpvr1.1.5 works for me. I did get pvrx2 to work but I prefer the tvguide layout in gbpvr (i like to scan 3-4 hours accross the screen)
I built my system orginally to replace 2 vcr's and don't use any of the advanced features besides the guide. 1 year ago i added ir blasting to control external tuners from my cable company when they switched to digital feeds and left only 5 channels in clear QAM.
I thought about buying a cablecard tuner but I am afraid the cable company will not mark the feeds as freely copy, and using the external tuners feeding to my analog cards assures that i can record any broadcast show that can be watched.
the reason i have not upgaded to nextpvr before is gbpvr just works for what I need.

this has been the first time I had to post a question about an issue that I could not find an answer already on the board. I am thankful for everyones help.

I probably messed up on my first attempt. Since getting M.E., I've had to get used to being wrong a lot even on the simplest of tasks.

Big thanks Sub.

Patching my V0.97.1 with the hex codes you suggested has brought back the guide in this version, so much happiness here. You're a star.

I am building a new drive with v1.4.7 (can't use NPVR as I need to use my MVPs all over the house) but the usual stuggles with muxes to resolve yet.

Thanks for all for the help posted here

MVP's work (just fine from the reports I've read) with NextPVR as long as you use Martins mvpmc dongle for them.

Here you go, patched with the sed script I posted.

Code:
Comparing files GBPVR.exe and GBPVR.9912.PATCHED.EXE
00048B96: DC EF

For other's the source exe is dated 05-03-2007 and has this md5 hash

2c71f85ab878677efa0efee61c2c05d5

It's been a long time since I've needed to come to these forums. I'm a long time user (6-7 years) still running and relying on GBPVR v98.13... yea I know... but it just works year after year. Anyhow, I wanted to get GBPVR checked out and ready to record shows for the fall 2012 season. That's when I encountered the "blank" TV Guide issue and of course the first thing I thought was to come here and see if anyone else was having this issue with the legacy versions and sure enough I found this thread along with a "fix" for the issue.

I simply used a hex editor on my GBPVR.EXE file (after backing it up of course)... found the hex string 01 20 DC 07... it was at address line 3de90 in my executable. I changed DC to EF as advised and viola' TV Guide is working.

Sub, thanks for an amazing (best in class) product and of course big thanks to Martin and the other members here.

P.S. I few weeks ago I built a new PC and I'm now shopping around for a Hauppauge dual tuner... likely the HVR-2250 then I'll be setting up NextPVR on that PC. :-)
Thanks again all.
