sub Wrote:Since you haven't installed a new version (still running 2.3.6), and its just stopped working, then I'd guess its in the newcs/acamd side of things. It absolutely could be decoders based on those messages you've posted above though.

I think it worked when I was on 2.2.6. Maybe something changed in 2.3.6? And what about the decoders? How can I check?
I notice that in settings, decoders, under "decoders", there is 2x "Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder" for video. But nothing happens when I click on the dots behind it. Isn't it possible I accidentally deleted some decoders? Where can I download and how do I install them?

What does this mean?

In mdapifilter.ini I can set logenabled to true. I tried this and it only gives me a log, when manually registering mdapifilter.ax:
07-08-2012 13:49:08 [INFO] [MAIN] CMDAPIFilter::dllMain->DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH
07-08-2012 13:49:08 [INFO] [MAIN] CMDAPIFilter::dllMain() Using unknown DVB Program...
07-08-2012 13:49:08 [INFO] [MAIN] DllRegisterServer()
07-08-2012 13:49:10 [WARN] [MAIN] CMDAPIFilter::dllMain->DLL_PROCESS_DETACH by FreeLibrary call

Or doesn't that mean anything? Too complicated for me, just thought I'd post it.

I reread my "journal" and saw that I had been playing around with multiple multidec instances. When I stopped that I put everything back but maybe I accidently did something wrong.

Maybe you could like at the files I've got in "TechniSat Mantis DVBC BDA Receiver #1-1"?

The old MDApifilter.ax is no longer used and should be un-registered and preferably deleted Wink, it can screw up things if it interveans in the decrypyion. I'm not sure wether you need the smartcard.conf when you are using NewCS, you could try and rename it to something else.

From the logs, Acamd geta a request and sends DCW-odd and DCW-even but the next time NewCS delivers a key there is nothing in Acamd's log, so it seems that Acamd somehow locks up. I suspect MDApifilter.ax. Nothing has changed with regard to decrypting in npvr for ages, I'm still using the same setup as when npvr was born.

About decoders, the same decoders are used both for encrypted and unencrypted channels, so if you can watch an unencrypted channel they are ok. Microsoft DVD-DTV decoder has no settings (at least not for third party apps like npvr).

Unregistered the mdapifilter.ax, renamed the smartcard.conf, stopped and started the recording service.....same.

This is very strange, frankly I'm out of ideas at the moment. Unless something has changed in the datastream with regard to encrypting and keys I cannot understand why it does not work. Did you try your smatcard in a STB? Another thing you could try is to delete the cache for Acamd (the AcamdTMP folder). I doubt that is the problem, but you never know...

I don't have an stb and I already tried deleting the cache for acamd. No luck either.
I have made preparations (made a new ghost image) for putting back the old ghost image but I'm hoping maybe someone else has got an idea first. Putting back and forth images has some logistic problems here an dI'm not quite sure it will help.

[QUOTE=WKleeven;439179Putting back and forth images has some logistic problems here an dI'm not quite sure it will help.[/QUOTE]Yeah I know, youæll have to back up all newer files first. Sorry I can't be of more help, I'v not come across quite a problem like this before. We know that your tuner card works, and we know that NewCS works, the problem seems to be Acamd which gets stuck. Have you tried any other softcams?

No, I haven't tried another softcam. Don't know which one, where to get it, how to configure it. Was glad to get acamd going, till now.
I must have done something....just don't know that. I'll have to put the ghost image back, I guess. I'll report after that, not sure when it's going to be.
