I've noted it down to investigate extending this logic to XMLTV and DVB EPG.

Ok, thanks. It was just a comment, really. Like I said, I've no idea how MythTV grabs and parses whatever info is there in the transmitted OTA EPG but it definitely does it. I was running a MythTV server under Ubuntu, streaming to a Kodi client that was also Ubuntu-based. I've now set up NextPVR on a Windows 10 Pro device as a server and am trying to push it through to the same Kodi client using the NextPVR Kodi add-on - less stable than expected (in fact, both client and server have just crashed) but I'll persevere.

It can use the CRID data mentioned earlier in this thread (in xmltv that has come from DVB EPG, or directly from the DVB EPG), to build a unique show ID.

If you see the server crash at all, definitely post the logs, with as much useful details as you can provide (like the time of the problem, so I know where to look in the logs).

Thanks, I'll remember that. The crash in this case was due to the dreaded "cannot find DNS server" issue. That's a perennial, if infrequent, Windows problem for many people and not related to NextPVR as far as I am aware.
