Version 4.0.5 (171208)
Windows 10
Schedules Direct EPG Source
Tried: nextpvr -removehistory, nextpvr -recurring (in command window I assume?, I didn't get any errors or feedback in the command window).

Not sure where NextPVR draws information for "repeat" and "new" airings; however, I'm having an odd issue with several of my shows. I have a prime example with a PBS show America's Test kitchen.

Searching for all episodes shows an episode airing on 01-26-18 (this is actually a new episode, however it states it originally airs on 01-20-18):

Going back to find all episodes for 01-20-18 shows that there is no episode airing this day:

I'm not sure which logs to post, I tried to run nextpvr -recurring from a command window but that didn't really seem to update my recurring shows in the nvpr.log so I'm assuming I need a different log. Just let me know what I need to do and I'll post them here. This is happening a bunch with several of my shows (a future first airing shows that the episode "previously aired" (in the future), go and check the date it claims its going to previously air and there is no listing for the show at all).

I also noticed there is no new tag on several PBS shows that I know are brand new, does this information come from schedules direct?

Thanks for any and all help.

On the "Settings->About" screen, there should be a button that says "Zip my log files and show me where the zip file is". Just do it. No worries about which log file is appropriate that way.

In the US, PBS isn't like traditional networks where the network sends a feed to all the local stations and then they air it at the same time. (With adjustments for timezone, etc.) PBS makes shows available to local stations and then they actually air them whenever they want to fit them into their schedule. So for these shows, I'm guessing that the Originally Aired Date in Schedules Direct is either the first date the show/episode was availableto be aired or the first date that it actually aired anywhere in the country.

The part that confuses me here is that I don't think SD uses the Original Air Date to set the New flag. (Some of the other EPG grabbers/enhancers would compare that date to the air date to determine if it was "new".) With traditional networks here, they sometimes air new episodes of a series (especially a new series that they want to promote) multiple times during the week (say on Wednesday and then again on Friday). I think that I've seen SD have both airings marked as New. I could be totally mis-remembering here.

It might be worthwhile to put in a trouble ticket with SD to ask them to look at an example show. There might be something that they can adjust between their source feed and what they publish.

I think you might be right. When I originally had NPVR setup I think I had to set all the PBS shows to record all episodes on a specific channel that generally only aired the new ones and let NPVR decide to not record duplicates. I think this is the right answer, at least for PBS shows.
