I have no idea what libskiasharp is, nor what to do if I found errors with it. I was hoping the log files would show why the service has stopped.

As I posted, the Windows Event Viewer will probably show it.

Failed again. Using yauiclient to watch prerecorded show, and NextPVR backend fails, losing 2 in process recordings.
It seems I cannot use either NLite or yauiclient without this happening at times, and losing recordings, requiring a reboot. Warning error, DistributedCOM. I agree all UI clients can crash they server if you hit the keys too fast during playback. They are not meant for that interaction typically it is hit the remote key, wait, remote key wait etc. With a mouse or keyboard it is pretty easy to queue up keys.

What do you mean by queue up keys?

Hit keys faster then NextPVR can deliver the screen images it creates and the client can present them. The video will move instantly or perhaps even stop at the EOD Of the file or in progress point but the screen comes up afterwards. Nlite will be faster but I don't think 10 second skipping with yauiclient makes any sense but that is the default with thumbnails, I configure NextPVR to do long skips because I don't need that level of accuracy and I use a remote which is inherently slower than a keyboard. Sincne you use a mouse it is much much worse and I will continue not to recommend the mouse with yauiclient.
I don't have enough scientific data to make any analyis of your issue but I can tell you in these 17 seconds you probably looked at 28+ thumbnails rather then just clicking 3 log skips. For me taking 17 seconds to decided where to skip to is too long. Code: 2025-11-13 20:05:37.312 [DEBUG][36] handled key pressMartin

I do not use a mouse. I have a Windows Media Center Remote.
Yauiclients lags tremendously fast forwarding with thumbnails as you note. But N Lite has no close caption display...

FIrst I should tell you that at least one of your lost recording was not a result of any crash it was a signal issue. However you did have 4 recordings lost or partially lost so when the server crashed (and the client stopped) it would make sense to check the server as soon as a client stop.
Thanks for the clarification about the the mouse, I can't remember why but I had to simulate mouse events to get the proper thumbnail processing in yauicllient The thumbnail processing is very ugly and that reinforces my recommendation that it if you want to use yauiclient you should turn off thumbnails or use long skips. You have a particular issue (I won't say unique) since your files play ok for sub and I but won't work with NextPVR.exe for you. I feel there is little chance for improvement unless sub has an a-ha moment. Therefor you really have to pick your poison: - use NextPVR.exe with good thumbnail processing but bad sync . use Nlite with ok processing but no closed captions which you posted you don't use in NextPVR anwyay. Perhaps sub can add this one day Small risk of UI client crashing - use yauiclient with limited or or no thumbnails - use Kodi with no thumbnails or NextPVR GUI, but NextPVR integration. You could experirment with KNEWC - use VLC with no thumbnails or NextPVR integration or GUI. Alternatively since you are using an HDHR you can look at Emby or Jellyfin or even the Silicondust app and you can see how their clients and recordings work for you. Martin

NextPVR is unusable due to sync issue. Cannot understand why more don't have this issue.
I cannot use VLC to watch a program that is still recording. We use subtitles on dramas, but not on News. NLite has a white bar at the top and the Windows bar, neither go away. Very distracting. You told me how to fix that in yauiclient (which I have to do every time), can that be done in NLite? If the thumbnails are the issue, I would turn them off in a minute. I have no idea what KNEWC is. I don't believe I can use Silicondust app... We use NextPVR to record shows. We then skip commercials, whether watching delayed or recorded earlier. We never watch live, commercial skipping is the goal. May have to examine commercial skipping software. It is a shame, because until recently NextPVR was great. The sync issue, which existed on our old machine sometimes and on the new box nearly all the time, has ruined the viewing experience.

I did tell you how to set yauiclient permanently full screen in my original post https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid604715 but I don't know anything about Nlite.
