I don't see anything in these logs or the other ones. Can you attach the *.log files fromthe jeff subdirectory?

Thanks

Jeff

PS. this is only a problem when using VA with users added to user tab; otherwise VA works extremely well.

this is the log for 6/1 trial. It is possible the VA log does not show much useful information because I have to power down. GBPVR.exe normally recycle itself, but the process gbpvr.exe could not cycle due to 99%CPU, so I just attached the GBPVR log just incase there is some good information in there.

Jeff Wrote:If you are still having this problem, can you zip up and post your log files from the jeff subdirectory? The small database file, by the way, is the empty one used when starting a new archive. Since the database now stores pictures too (which makes the UI more responsive) it can get quite large.

I had returned to 96.12 where Video Archive 2.5 works...I became frustrated with 3.0 and GB-PVR 97.7..all plugins worked except Video Archive 3.0..I use your plugin 80% of the time.....I'll try it again this weekend and mail you the logs from the Jeff Folder...Thanks in advance for looking into thisSmile

Good Morning Jeff,

First off I wanted to congratulate you on this great plugin. I'm a fairly new user to GB-PVR (built my first PVR just after new-years), but so far I like what I see. Here is my dilemma. I'm using two separate boxes for GB-PVR. A low power, low noise Celeron based frontend (351) and a high powered home pc backend (E6400), which also serves as the family computer. Most of my storage resides on the backend server, so I'm using that box to hold my video archive. Everything is working great... streaming is very smooth.. but I digress, getting a bit off topic here (I'm like a kid in a candy store with this PVR... my wife is going to kill me if I don't stop tinkering).

I have the frontend box currently set up to transcode the .mpgs to MPEG-4 (XVID profile built into GB-PVR), and I have VA set up to archive the videos older than 3 days to the backend machine. When I run ArchiverUtility to perform this however, it only wants to archive the .mpg files and not the .avi files. Since the transcoding is being done automatically, archiver is missing these files. Is there an option to have archiver move all video files, and not just the .mpgs? I know I can manually move them and update the video archive.mdb to point the filemap at the updated file name, but I was hoping there would be a less intrusive way of doing this. I'm attaching the archiver-PC.log file to this post, in case you need to peek at it:

In the end my real goal is to have the powerful machine on the back end do the transcoding for me (using ZProcess maybe), but for now my current setup is working.

Thanks for looking at this,

Graham.

Right you are. I've updated the test version at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/uploads/Plugin/V...ersion.zip to include this. Note that I only test the plug-in on the latest rev of GBPVR so I don;t know how it will work on older versions.

I really like the VA you made Jeff, looks very handy. Been trying it out past few days but I am alittle stumped at the moment.

I am using your test version now after I saw this thread, but it is doing the same thing, wondering if it is "normal" or how to change it.

I have my normal recordings set to ...My Videos
and the Video Archive I have set to ...My Videos\Video Archives

When I archive a movie I had recorded, it still shows in the list of videos.

I went to inspect what it did, and I found the recording was placed in the correct folder (with the folder.jpg image too), but it also left the old folder with just the folder.jpg file in that place too. Odd.

Also, even though I have the plugin configured to update the database imagry for the shows on startup, I still have to do it manually using the GetTVinfo program. Even then, in order for the graphic to show on the recording, I need to restart the GBPVR.

If I can get it so that it updates the graphics for the folders & that once I archive the recording, that it doesnt appear in my list unless I select the video archive folder from the GUI to browse from, would be great.

If all else fails, if there was just a plugin to have the graphics for the folders for the recordings available, I would be just as happy with that I think.

Thanks for your help!

If the normal recordings directory is, for example, c:\my videos, the plug-in will look at that directory plus all sub directories under it. So, setting an archive path to c:\my videos\video archives is redundant since that path is a subdirectory off of the recordings directory. The archive paths are designed more for moving things from one disk to another.

When moving videos, the video and all files related to it are moved, but the source folder itself is not touched (that is, it is not deleted if empty and the folder.jpg is not deleted).

If you can post the log files from your jeff subdirectory they might help me track down what is going on. They should show what the plug-in is doing when you move files, when Internet fetches are done, etc.
