Hi,
OK I've run a couple of tests using both gbpvr-097 and hauppage, to load the 3024088 dongle. One attempt was to load the dongle via gbpvr, the second attempt was after killing all gbpvr processes and starting mvpmediasvc. The mvpmediasvc loaded the dongle and (after I remembered to start the mvp process <blush>) fired up gbpvr fine. gbpvr wouldn't load the dongle. I'm emailing the logs+ethereal traces (can't attach).
Hope this helps some,
G.

Tipstir, could you do us all a favor? Quit posting enormous posts about your network topology in this thread. You are not providing any viable suggestions or solutions and are merely cluttering this thread, which is getting to be more than just a little aggravating.

Perhaps you could start a thread about your network follies and get some attention there, but please don't clutter this one.

Thanks in advance.

tipstir Wrote:Listen up, this was about 97.9 when I couldn't get it work, I've posted what I did to get it to work with MVP

Which was not a reasonable "fix" for most users, more like bailing wire and duct tape.

tipstir Wrote:It shoudn't matter good to know what's causing the problem.

In my opinion you haven't found the problem. You found a work around for it. Even at that you haven't been up and running for more than a week without other major problems that you have reported. And you still haven't provided any proof to back up your claim that Linksys and other home routers don't handle packet switching well (and this, you claim, is the heart of the problem .. or wait .. was it that it doesn't handle MAC/IP assignments properly ... or all of the above depending on what died next in your network). Maybe yours didn't and was probably broken or just maybe your entire network is a jumble of piecemail "fixes" to get things "working" for you. Regardless, the problem in 97.x is not going to be fixed for the masses by the "tips" you have provided.

tipstir Wrote:You and I can go at this back and fourth, I really don't have the time to do that today.. So chill..

I asked you to quit cluttering this and yet you continue. You need to "chill".

tipstir Wrote:I don't like to provide proof where it isn't needed... My word should be enough here.

Excuse me? I have seen MANY of your post that are nothing but post you hijacked from others and put into "tipsters rules" or whatever it is. Your word means jack squat to me. I'll explain why. First and foremost you have more network problems than anyone here. Read your own posts, you always have something screwed up. Second, if you are gonna talk the talk, then walk the walk. If you are going to slam Linksys or any other hardware for that matter, you best provide proof.

The fact is you CAN'T provide the proof, because it doesn't exist.

I am done with you. Kindly stay out of this thread unless you bring something other than duct tape and bailing wire, or your "God Almighty" attitude.

See my post on this thread :- http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=16286&page=7
for details of how I eventually got this working (I hope).
