In the Windows Task Manager, what is the process name for the MVP Servers?

I have been running into problems with Streaming Servers not being found and would like to be able to see if the appropriate process is running.

You will have a PVRX2.exe for each MVP server.

PVRx2.exe. If you run Vista you have to check all processes for all users.

That's just an extra instance of pvrx2.exe running for every mvp server you have running. So if you have 2 mvp's and are watching tv on the server at the same time there would be 3 instances of pvrx2.exe running.

Thanks to all of you. I had noticed the multiple instances of PVRX2 but thought the server might be another process.

Go to http://www.sysinternals.com and look for Process Explorer. It is a better version of task manager. It is freeware. It can show all the running processes in a tree format. That makes it really easy to see the PVRX2 processes to support the MVP that are started by the recording service.

Thanks for reminding me of Process Explorer.

I've had Process Explorer on my machine for a long itme. I just find that Task Manager is quick to launch (right click the task bar) for quick peeks at things so I had forgotten I even had Process Explorer.

Ill add a me-too.. I forgot about that util.

Dont forget too, that you can make a shortcut to any exe, then drop the shortcut into the Quick Launch area beside the Start button. I keep the apps I use in there, easy to open w/o closing any other window Im working in.
