Went ahead with Martin's install. First problem is my satellite card, a Pinnacle 7010x is not on the list. It recognises it as a 3010x which is terrestrial only. Any suggestions? I vaguely remember once trying GBPVR and getting it to work with a BlackGold entry which has the same Philips chipset.

It's probably best to post questions like this in the hardware or support forums with the appropriate subject to get the attention of the proper people.

That is the best way. But for info a number of UK users have that card (from an ebay seller) and I have a duff one). I used the Blackgold entry. I can't remember if it scanned all channels or not (this is where sattv tuners can be iffy) but for sure, if worked by using someones cache file.....
Tick the config box for "just show detected devices" (or text similar) to see what gbpvr recognises it as.

search for 7010x and see what pops up.

I noticed today the EGreat M34a is down to $140 at egreatusa http://www.egreatusa.com/ The market is very competitive right now.

Martin

Planning to get this to use GB-PVR with my new HD projector. Do you recommend the enhanced remote? I have a spare MCE remote that came with my HVR-2250, I got the impression from some posts here that it could be used for navigation with the M34a but not powering on/off.

Also, to be clear, will GB-PVR be component only or will I be able to play captured HD .ts files (ClearQAM) over hdmi?

Even if you buy the $12 remote, I figure that you still have the same issue with power, the EGreat's power key really does turn the power off on their player which is a bonus. Since the PCH's don't power off I defined the Power Key to exit back to the NMT software. To exit back to the NMT software you will need to hit USB Eject then Power or enable the Exit menu option in GBPVR.

The bigger remote issue is it is missing the colour keys. I have mirrored blue on the Info key. I'm not sure how much of a limitation this is. I keep meannig to define the other colour keys to be simulated with the USB Eject and have been forgetting.

HDMI, component, svideo and composite are all supported fully now, there are a lot of obsolete posts so I understand the confusion.

Wow Martin, that's great to hear about the HDMI. I've been an MVP/mvpmcx addict for years now, so I'm already in your debt. Looks like I'll be in your debt again, no way would I get one of these NMTs unless I can have GB-PVR on it.

Sounds like I don't need to pony up the $12 for hte special remote then. To be honest, I have never used the color keys on my MVPs, so I don't think I will miss them.

Thanks!
