If your MB has firewire and your STB box does as well (and you have a cable), and you have a 32 bit OS (not likely based on your sig), you could install the timmmoore drivers and use the capDVHS program that's included in the driver package to see if you can capture anything. If you can, it's not protected, at least that's the way it is on my box from Charter.

You might also google for the manual for your STB. I think the manual for my moto box describes how to get into the diagnostics.

Have fun.

Hopefully mine is closer to the front of the line than the rear.

Still no sign of mine, but did read about it and listened to podcast about them here.

My credit card was charged last Friday. And I received it today. YEAH! I got my cable card Saturday, so when I get home tonight, I'll try getting it all setup with NPVR.

I have a friend who is very interested in the 2650 so I'm interested in what the thoughts are after some have had time to get to know it. He is completely helpless (so much more so than even me) and I would have to set things up for him.
After you guys have had time to digest things and make sure you're happy with it and it's marriage with NPVR, please feel free to opine.

Thanks

Paul

I'm interested to hear what you get on your CD. Through the help of sub, I got one last week to assist in testing NextPVRs support. While the CD was labelled like a legitimate Hauppauge CD, it included a couple inf files and driver files, along with SiliconDust's hdhomerun_windows20110815beta.exe. Nothing else, and no typical Hauppauge install software and nothing even labelled Hauppauge.

Over the weekend Hauppauge updated their support page to include a new CD download, but the link was busted until today, linked to a WinTV download instead. The new link at least includes what you'd expect from Hauppauge but I have no idea what to expect now. The SiliconDust guys told me my CD should *not* have included their software and they came across a little irked. Funny thing is, the latest beta software from SiliconDust recognizes the device in the Setup and Config apps so I'm kind of wondering what I'm going to end up with when I install the Hauppauge software.

I did USPS Priority Mail and had it shipped to my PO box. So that may have helped speed my delivery. :-)
