Quote:I had problems with the instruction above originally because all this stuff was in C:\Program Files\.... and the command line can't cope with file names with spaces?!
It would have been fine if you'd put quotes around any paths containing spaces.

Quote:However when I run the BDA mux checker it still can't find it.

Anything else I'm doing wrong? I'm only guessing that PCMRMpgMux.ax
is a BDA mux?
As I said above, I've never heard of the Cyberlink mux being called PCMRMpgMux.ax, so it may be something else.

I've never downloaded it myself so I cant tell you where to get it. If you use the forum search feature, I'm sure you'll find plenty of pointers for where to get it. Everyone else seems to be finding it ok.

Quote:Another thought:- the WinTV software that came with the HVR-1300 produces perfect mpg recordings - does this mean that it is using another mux that GBPVR can't find??
The Hauppauge Mux filter is hardcoded to only work with their application, so is not usable by GB-PVR.

Hi Sub, thanks for staying with me...

Getting properties on PCMRMpgMux.ax tells me:

File version: 5.0.0.1521
Description: MpgMux
Copyright: Copyright c 2000

Is this what I'm looking for - if so - any guesses why BDA Mux Checker doesn't see it?

If its not showing up in Mux Checker, then GB-PVR cant use it. Its probably the same sort of filter but likely using some custom name instead of the standard "Cyberlink MPEG Muxer". You'll just have to find another mux.

Finally found one that works:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0813

Thanks for your help...

I'm a newbie...

Finding a mux seems to be my last straw with my setup.
I have a VBox Cat's Eye USB ATSC tuner.
I've used the mux finder utility and can't find anything.

I was wondering if someone can just zip up their Mux files
and post it here. There seems to be some many replies
as to where to find it, why don't we just publish it in
a download section? Or is this some kind of copyright issue?

Thanks.

Most ATSC users just use the Microsoft DVR-MS mux, that you should already have if you're using XP SP2.

No, they cant do that. These are licensed components from commercial products. It would be illegal to post them here.

guyanansharma, this is not a general support thread. If you've got a problem and need, make a separate post elsewhere. I've deleted you last post. I'm deleting any posts that are not specific related to downloading/install/using the mux filters.

I'm curious if any mux is better over the other? I dont want to use dvr-ms because of the weird format it is in. Do all mux record in that format? or can they also record into mpeg 2?

It depends where you are, what you're trying to record, and how good your signal is.

If you're in the US, trying to record ATSC HDTV, then the Microsoft DVR-MS mux seems to do the best job. The downside with this mux is that it records to .dvr-ms files. The other mux options record .mpg files.

You can always use the Microsoft DVR-MS mux option, but set it to convert .DVR-MS files to .MPG 'ASAP'. You'll need the Cyberlink mux installed for this to work. Within a couple of minutes of your recording completing, it would have automatically been remuxed to a .MPG file.
