Is yours drawing 500mA also?

I have no idea, how do I find out?

Then again maybe it is drawing more than 500mA and the over-current protection kicks in and thats why the PC reboots?

Sent mine back to ebayer, if that new one does not work, then I'll get the Leadtek PCi version, at least I know the brand.

I'll keep you posted.

you can check the current used on the usb bus in the device manager, you'll have to expand out the tree for to find the usb controllers.

I eventually gave up on the afatech chipset... did some research and the DiBCOMM one is good and .. basically i think anything that is supported by / on linux is a better chipset, . Atleast you can always install linux to make a full pvr (like mythTV) if it doesnt work on windows.

I like the DiBCOMM version so much (because it works hehe) i can now supply them on ebay! Big Grin

Erer... Goodluck with the leadtek.. it should work better.

Unfortunately i couldnt get my Compro (the usb one that uses the dibcom chipset) to work with gbpvr Sad Not overly fussed about it because the compro s/w is functional tho not perfect.

The Terratec driver and application is much nicer than the Blaze one - the only drawback being it didn't find 70 odd "unknown" channels, so you can at least watch the channel even if you don't know what it is.

It found all the BBC channels for me, with fully working EPG. But that was all. I think I would prefer no EPG but all the channels.

Has anyone found a way to get more channels with Terratec ?

Once the CINERGY T USB XE driver is loaded - does this Stick work fine with GBPVR, has anyone had experience of this ?

I've had a very similar experience to pinkeyes... Terratec finds three of the multiplexes including the BBC but steadfastly refuses to pick up the others which were fine on Blaze. Blaze has stopped working now with the new driver installed.

I just got my stick and if i try to scan my channels it don't find any even I use spesific scan of 698-714Mhz which is our proucast frequency... After I slept and the stick cooled down, it found channels when I used spesific scan, but didn't find any when I used full scan... I think it have something to do with warming... now when I let it cool I can watch channels with full quality and strenght but after 20-30 seconds it loses the signal. My stick also draws full 500mA from USB...

If this is silicon chip tuner the warm must have some serious effect on noise... wheater it is faulty ASIC or faulty component on board. Have anybody tried to open this stick and cool it manually? or have somebady tried to add resistor to control the current flow?? Or have somebody tried to change some basic components?  Cool
