With one of these cards installed, I can scan channels and view livetv. With a second one installed, the channel scan will show no channels on either card and the first one no longer works for viewing live tv. Disabling the second card in device manager allows the first card to work. Is this a driver problem?

I dont know if the driver for this device supports more than one device. If you reproduce the problem and post the logs then I'll see if there is anything that stands out in the logs.

In BeyondTV, (which I am trying to leave) both ATSC tuners are supported for over the air. The VistaView faq's do state multiple tuner support - for whatever thats worth.

Thx

The device failed to start when GB-PVR requested it. You can get this if other software in the same machine is holding onto the device. I cant be sure that is the cause, but this is a common reason of this specific error message.

Looks like that patch fixes it. I am now able to scan either card with the other card enabled in device manager.

This is really a nice little card - when used as an ota atsc tuner, I got more channels than the HVR-1600 picked up. And the analog picture is quite good. Channel changes in qam are much faster than the HDHomeRun, plus it is a low profile card with both size brackets.

What exactly did the patch fix? Some special way to identify each card or something? Just curious.

Going to have to look up my paypal account again...

Thanks

I'm using the qam drivers and the latest drivers for the ati hd2600 pro. The qam issues I was having seems to be better with the newest drivers from ati(at least in the preview screen). Now when I try to use Live TV, at best I get a blank screen at worst it flashes "no signal" on the screen and the computer locks up. The event log is giving this error Hanging application PVRX2.exe, version 1.0.0.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

Thanks

It worked around a rare situation where the tuner/capture filter instances were in a different order. The new logic trys to the normal connection (based on the instance number), but if that doesnt work it'll try a brute force connect with every other capture filter in the system.

WooHoo! Recording works sub!!

I tried that patch just to see but it didn't help so I started poring through my logs and I noticed that when I set a recording, the signal check always shows "lock: 0". I set BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording to "1" in the config.xml and it started recording. This was on Vista, I'll boot from XP later today and try the same.
