I just found the solution to the Dish box going into standby. I can now send the select command to turn on my Dish box. It works with HIP and IR Server Suite, at least.

Teach the Blaster the enter or select key on your Dish remote, and give it a one letter name. (That was eisier for me because the blaster wants to send one charecter commands). Then in channel changer edit the script to put the name right before the {channel}. It sends the select, then the channel you want to change to. I have been playing with this since Sunday and it hasn't failed yet!!

All thanks to Sub, Martin123, and TVShowman for the tip.

That is very cool. I'd been getting around it by using the VCR timer from midnight to 11:59 PM, but if I feared that if I was taping something at midnight, it would change the channel on me.

So, did you put it in as -channel {s} {channel} or something else? Thanks.

I just added the extra code to the regular setup in the channelchanger text. Mione looks like this:
-host localhost -channel s{channel}

The "s" before the {channel} is the select code taught to IR Server Suite. Now it sends the select before any channel change.

IR Server Suite looks great. But I cant seem to get it to work for IR blasting MCE remote. I have 2 capture devices but I would like to use ISS with the 2nd capture device only (its an STB). I dont want to use ISS for capture device 1 because its has its own tv tuner which is directly controlled by GBPVR.

Furthermore, the channels in the guide for the STB are numbered 101, 102,.... But these numbers correspond to different channels on the STB. For example, 101 in GBPVR is 1 on the STB, 102 on GBPVR is 102 on the STB and so on. For example, when I enter 101 on the keyboard, I would like to blast 1 to the STB. I hope I have made it clear Smile Is this possible with GBPVR + ISS?

Thanks,
Khurram.

ISS already supports this. It is only called by GBPVR for changing channels on device 2. The reason it was not working for me was an error in blasting command parameters. The following is the correct parameter string in my case:

-host localhost -port Port_1 -channel {channel}

I have to use Port_1 because my ir transceiver doesnt blast ir codes if the port is not specified. Now I have to check it from a client to check if channel changing works from the client side.

Edit:
====

It works perfectly from a client also.

Regards,
Khurram.

AFter beating my head against HIP for ages I really like the look of this, but I am having the same problem, the remote just doesn't work.

I have tried reinstalling the ehome driver, removing the reg keys and sofar nothing, if i ask it to learn a key it just timeouts, I had this working perfectly with hip and XP, talked the mrs into how much better vista would be ... she is not happy at all.

I will keep battling but if anyone has any ideas on how to get vista business 32bit working let me know please.

My bad,

with all the screwing around I have been doing I had managed to install one driver for the usb and one for the HID, very strange but all sorted and more responsive than HIP

Cheers guys.

One point tho, don't unplug and replug your usb reciever, it doesn't seem to like that, hopefully everything will be back working on reboot

HI, I have an Harp. HD-pvr that I am using

with an MCE IR remote and receiver, I am

not currently using the Harp. supplied

remote that came with the HD_PVR. The

HD_PVR uses an external ir blaster to tune

an Scient. Atlanta 4250hdc DSTB. I have not been

able to configure GBPVR to tune the DSTB

yet. Are you suggesting to drop the ir blaster approach all together and use a blaster learner combo that would use the learned ir codes from an existing 4250hdc remote control and thus, ultimaately drive the 4250hdc without the need for the included ir blaster. If this is the case I would have thought that the existing ir blaster and ir32 program from haup. would have been supported by gbpvr or am I missing something. Your thoughts appreciated.

anyone have problems with IR server not recognizing the remote after coming out of standby? I haven't done any registry tweaks yet. I know the remote still works b/c windows is still acknowledging my key presses.
