As posted, I don't see any reason why you need to edit gbpvr.cgi or script.cgi.

The only thing you need to edit is startmeup, but that's not used in the script.cgi...

What version of the firmware are you using on your NMT? I seem to recall this happening on my initial version of the istar firmware...

I am using the latest firmware version. I updated it as soon as I received the pch about 2 months ago. I check once in a while if there is a new one in the maintenance section but haven't seen one.

Starting to grasp at straws here... Did you edit the scripts to add a mount command for a DVD share?

Did you edit the scripts at all? If so, could you perhaps post them?

No, I have the orginal scripts that were posted on this thread. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Is it possible to get gbpvr to load automatically using the mvpmc share on my computer? Its ok for me, but my family would like gbpvr to always be there.

Did you have it working from your computer share already?

If so, it should work just about the same...

I think you'll need to change the mount commands in the scripts and the URLs in the index.htm.

I am going to test this very thing either tonight or tomorrow evening. I'll let you know how it goes...

yes, it can all work from share as well, just a little stranger connect string..
my server string for share is:
Code:
http://localhost.drives:8883/[SMB]%20PVR2:MVPMC/script.cgi
for a share on machine \\PVR2\MVPMC\ [note mine are all caps cuz dir is in caps, it's case sensitive]

i know i had problems until i upgraded firsmware...i am using the beta now tho..[found on the web] but not sure if that's the problem..no reason shouldn't work with latest official firms..

take the 2>/dev/NULL off of the mkdir cmd so it's only mkdir /etc/mvpmc
so you can see if it creates any errors..
i think you need to start with a share, cuz at least you can telnet in to see what's wrong...but i've tried by wiping everything and just copying files over and it worked out of the box here..

seems like once i got telnetd running on a share, i've never had a problem with it anywhere since..

check the wiki as that is the original script for usb at bottom...
[or this post] http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...stcount=28

yea, i'd get the share version working first...gives you diagnostic tools to check on usb version...

Dirk: Great job...much easier to read/edit...and looks nicer too..Smile

I got the index.htm file to run out of my mvp share on my computer. Now when I reboot the pch it automatically loads the menu you created. Should it also automatically pull up gbpvr or not?

a small edit is needed to make it automatic...
just remove the <!-- and at the end the --> from the metadata line at beginning....also you can change the timeout from 10 to 0 to make it immediate..
end up like:
Code:
<META http-equiv="Refresh" content="0;url=http://localhost.drives:8883/[SMB]%20SERVER:SHARE/gbpvr.cgi">

Looking pretty swish dirkomatic!

If I wanted to add this pretty (and automatic) page to my mvpmc share, (I have no HD (heat/noise..), and I might consider a USB stick if the kids weren't prone to bending it in the PCH....), could I just modify the USB_DRIVE_A-1 (or HARD_DISK) lines in script.cgi and gbpvr.cgi in these files, modify IP and pop them into my existing mvpmc share?

wrt the throd of these three files, what is considered the "root" for index.htm, as far as the share is concerned?

Ta,

k.
