It's due some quirky stuff in your broadcasters stream.

Do your still have some full transport streams available? I've got a bit of time available now, so could take another look at getting it to work better with the quirks of your particular broadcaster.

Those files are bit small at 6MB. Can you supply some bigger files, lile 100MB each?

Sorry, didn't notice the small filesize.
Using my HDhomerun with NPVR channels are detected as MPEG2.
With latest evaluation version of TScapture it records the small files when using my HDhomerun. So to get a large/useful capture with TScapture I have to switch to using a Terretec USB tuner. Very strange, but here is a large file:

That's likely down the application you had selected in the HDHomeRun Setting app. SiliconDust use this setting to try to minimize the amount of data it sends across the network where it can - and this behaviour often gets in the way.

Were these channels being identified as MPEG2 for you? I'm consistently getting H.264 with numerous attempted scans using your 570Mhz file.

Did you have another frequency more likely to show the MPEG2 problem?

Using my TerraTec Cinergy USB tuner all channels are detected as H264, and I can make a stream recording with TScapture.
Using my HDhomeRun Expand tuner all channels are detected as MPEG2, and TScapture only records the small useless files.
Included are 2 set of logfiles from the channel scan using the two different devices.

What is the application set to in the HDHomeRun Settings utility?

Uograded to latest HDhomerun-drivers, but it doesn't improve things. In the setup utillty I can choose between Default, Easy HDTV DVR, For The Record, J River Media Center, MediaPortal, NextPVR, Windows Media Center. Most of them, like default, MediaPortal and NextPVR will only give me MPEG2 channels. A few of them, like For The Record and Windows Media Center will give me some MPEG2 channels and some H264.
So messing around with the driver (which I have done before) does change the scanning result, but nothing gives me close to 100% correct result.

I'm not a HDHomeRun user myself, so not super familiar with them, but they used to have a setting to inject channel information. Can you see anything like that? If so, make sure it's off - it might be inserting fake channel info that is stating it's MPEG2.
