Hi new user here, first I want to congratulate you for the NextPVR Project! I'm just beginning to play with it and I love it.

*I'm replying to this existing post since my goal is the same as the OP*

I'm using it with the NextPVR Addon in Kodi and at this day, it works well.

I'm trying to download the files located at:

http://myIP:8866/service?method=channel.m3u
http://MyIP:8866/service?method=channel.xmltv

Have some error messages.

I'm a donator and I have entered the number and donation page. It acknowledges it with the thank you :-)

Any clue? Do I need to provide the logs?

I'm using the latest version: 6.1.5.231022

First image is the XML error and the second is the m3u error.

Thanks!

-Eric

Maybe try this patch https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid586292. If it doesn't help sub will need a copy of your npvr.db3

There is no problem with the XMLTV file here, maybe you didn't update the container properly? If you save xmltv URL to a file do you see any bad xml like <category>R&B</category>

The m3u error is normal, a browse doesn't know how to render it.

In my experience, when entering a link leading to a m3u or xml file leads to dowload this file.

In this case the browser tries to display it.

http://myIP:8866/service?method=channel.m3u
http://MyIP:8866/service?method=channel.xmltv

Also tried to open the m3u in VLC. No go.

Could it be a formatting problem?

Interesting. I run a copy wget command to copy the m3u from url to a file on a share on my server.

File is good and I can stream from it. But not from the direct url link directly.

What am I missing?

I noted that them m3u file was ok you are seeing browser messages. Perhaps you are trying over the Internet?

The OP objective is to be able to access the channel from outside with a m3u and XML data.

In my specific case my goal is to provide the channels to my family outside the house. We're using Kodi with NextPVR addon which works very well locally.

Is is possible to achieve the same goal directly within NextPVR in Kodi with a remote adress like http://mywanip assuming the port forward is opened, pin & access account changed.

The m3u and XML data scenario is also good, this is why I have hijacked this thread.

I'd like to explore both options.

It works!

Both tested with VLC media player & Kodi.

I did not change anything on the port/firewall part. Curious.

This is good. Both m3u and XML are woking from remote location.
