Ooo... they are close to accepting purchases. I get to check-out and then the Submit button they say to click is non-existent.
Are they gonna make me beg?

philly_phenom Wrote:GBPVR just gives a blank screen - although I don't currently have sub's patch in. I might try that tonight if I have time. I always get nervous when trying out different codecs because I know Windows can get confused by multiple codecs. I backed up my C drive with Drive Image XML before starting this, so at least I can get back to where I was before this experimenting. In case anyone was following this, GB-PVR was able to playback this file - I couldn't figure out the blank screen (plus GB-PVR would stop responding whenever I tried to play it) - so I ran it in windowed mode instead of full screen & found out that there was a popup from ffdshow asking if I wanted to allow gbpvr to use it (I guess I forgot to check the "do not limit" box during installation...). I played the file through a few times, but after a while, temps were running pretty high (even with a small fan blowing through the open case), so I think watching 90+ minute HD movies on this rig would be a stretch - hopefully I don't have to wait to long for a PCH...

The first time I tried to order, the submit button wasn't there so I restarted my browser and it appeared so I probably got in one of the first orders. Besides, I would have hunted you down, same city and all. madas Wrote:me too!...notice the order says ships in 4-7 days??Probably a standing response. The main page says these units will start shipping around May 1st.

Then when I went to "My Account" and went back through the order process I had a Submit button on the page, and I had just one HD-PVR instead of two. From their ordering process you can tell the company is more focused on hardware engineering than software, can't you? Sheesh...
I thought this was going to be an internal card, not an external box..did I make that up? Or is there something else in terms of a card coming out?
Also, pretty expensive $$ ouch! (I got spoiled with the $80 internal cards, what can I say?) Sub,
Since you've been testing one of these what can you tell us about using it with other Hauppauge IR receivers and blasters? I see that it has the IR receiver built into the box, and has it's own blaster. Since the remote seems to be the same this looks to be a problem. First, is it even going to be possible to control more than one blaster in gbpvr? It's not today, correct? If so, I assume we'll only be able to have one receiver visible and gbpvr will have to figure out which blaster to activate. Tell us it'll all be fine. |
