@ pBS: Thanks for all your work on the scripts and the initial index.htm and for your recommendation to make mine simpler.

@ jksmurf: The root for the index.htm is the "root" of the share. I got it all set up and working from a share and to make as few changes as possible, I had to create a mvpmc directory in my share and put the .pngs and scripts in there. I had to change the mount path and the URLs as described by pBS a couple of posts above.

One thing I did notice is that it all doesn't fit on my standard definition TV. I had to remove the telnet button on the index_sd.htm (or is it sd_index.htm; I can't figure out which really works and the pch docs are sketchy...) to get it all to fit. I put a second htm page there which has it if I ever need to telnet.

Can the gbpvr.cgi and script.cgi files be combined. When I totally shut down the pch and restart it it goes to the pch menu screen. When I then click on the index.htm the tv goes blank and the pch is locked up because telnetd wasn't loaded. I have changed the timeout to "0" to automatically load gbpvr automatically with no delay.

they *are* combined..if you notice telnetd is in both scripts...
otherwise, you're not using current scripts..
from my hd it's instant...Smile

if index.htm is in root, just clicking the source drive will start it...
i hear that if some services haven't finished starting, it won't load...
but i've tried the instant 0 delay from hd and it worked fine..

PBS, your right I wasn't using the updated gbpvr.cgi. I tried it though and all I get now is "Request cannot be processed". The only changes I made were to put the pch ip address in and remove the # sign from the mount -t cifs command and add a # sign to the USB drive command.

not the pch ip address, it's supposed to be the share's ip address..
localhost.drives:8883/[SMB]%20SERVER:SHARE/gbpvr.cgi
i just use the name instead of ip address...
so if my mvpmc share on pc is setup as \\pvr3\mvpmc\
then the line would look like:
...localhost.drives:8883/[SMB]%20PVR3:mvpmc/gbpvr.cgi

I'm having trouble getting this going? Just as history, I had the original telnet / GBPVR thing from Martin going OK previously. I attach my scripts. Can someone confirm I have the correct files in the correct dirs with the correct paths?

My mvpmc "share" is off the Dongle dir. I replaced scripts USB Share paths with (what I believe) is my share. I am a bit confused about root here, is it now Dongle (for my case)??

[EDIT1]btw when I hit Index.htm, I get a Blue background with Home Browse text but no images (and cannot seem to navigate)

[EDIT2]OK I think I got the Images+ background sorted out, I moved them into a subdir called mvppch (inside mvpmc dir)and changed all the png lines in Index.htm to refer to that mvppch dir (I couldn't create a mvpmc dir as I already have the FILE "mvpmc" for the MVP). However while Browse Files Button works, neither of the GBPVR nor Telnet Script works.... I'm getting there slowly I think though....

looks ok, but are you sharing out the dongle dir as mvpmc? or the mvpmc dir under dongle?

for a share it's a bit trickier..
ok, share out your mvpmc dir inside dongle as 'mvpmc'...
ALL files will go in there...[index.htm too]
index looks good, except i'd change the subdirs for png's to just root..[all files same dir] likeConfusedrc="gbpvrunsel.png"
the scripts should work as is...Smile

from win, you should be able to browse your share as \\smurfpc\mvpmc\ and see all the files in there,no subdirs needed..[if you change the paths on pngs]

mvpmc dir under dongle

Yup, done that already.

I can try this but should it make a diffference, these are just source paths for the pngs, right??

pBS Wrote:from win, you should be able to browse your share as \\smurfpc\mvpmc\ and see all the files in there, no subdirs needed..[if you change the paths on pngs]
Yup, I can see the items from the Network.

hmmm, should work then...only other thing i can think of is it is case sensitive...
and if it's a read only or writable share, tho didn't seem to make any diff for me..

aha! i see it...you're using the hard drive line instead of the share line in the script..
use this line:
mount -t cifs //192.123.1.108/MVPMC /etc/mvpmc -o username=guest,rw;
and put a # in front of:
#mount --bind /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives:8883/[SMB]%20SMURFPC:mvpmc/ /etc/mvpmc
first one is for drives only...
second is for shares...

and of course adjust line to your system...Big Grin
[you might be able to use names instead of ip,haven't tried tho it should work for smb]

[note: #=rem or disable that line]
