As I already stated before the best (but not cheapest) solution is to use 3 separate cards with each one having its own Ci/Ca. In my case 3x Technotrend 1501 with CI and 3 Alphacrypts Cam.
Any idea when the next release of GBPVR is planned and how sure (or not) it is that it then will support multiple encrypted recordings with immediate decrypting of the shows? Offline decrypting is no option for me.

There is no plans to change anything about the encrypted channel support in the next release.

It should already be able to do this, but I havnt tried it myself.

When using softcams it cant decrypt multiple channels at same time, due to the way the mdapifilter works (which can sort of do it, but not in a way compatible with multi-record).

We have asked sub for this and since the next release is a major one, maybe it will be in there. But only sub can answer that. Technically it is possible, since MediaPortal users have reported doing this, even multiple recordings of encrypted channels on the same transponder.
I was going to need a change to mdapifilter.ax to make this possible. I tried contacting the author, but never heard back from him.

The author of OfflineDescrambler (JosyFun) is currently writing a commandline version of the decrypter and I'm betatesting it, but sorry to say, progress has been a bit slow lately.

As far as I cn see, the windows version of NewCS can support two "users" logged in at the same time, so if one could run two instances of recordingservice it would be possible to record and decrypt two shows. But that may not be desireable for other reasons...

You should take a look on DVBLogic TVSource Beta 2.0!
It wraps up to 4 virtual dvb-s tuners around 4 physical tuners (dvb-c/t/s/). Each tuner can have its own decryption method and you can select which channels are passed on to the appplication i.e. WMC, GBPVR, MP etc. Multidec support on a single tuner is promised but not implemented yet.
There is now also a small tool which creates a transponder list for each of the tuners. Only problem is that GBPVR is not able to read the channelname in the scan because it is in unicode. I had to change the channelnames in the scan-x.cache to the real names.
This behaviour is already posted to sub.
I am using it in a test rig with News 1.65 and Acamd 6.18. It only needs acamd in the plugin folder for each of the tunercards (so multiple instances with unique usernames/passwords). MDapifilter or other plugins are NOT required. Channel changes are quick and reliable and everything works as advertised. If Sub would be able to build in such a behaviour in GB-PVR it would be a killer Big Grin
BTW: the program is now in beta and therefore free for 21 days. After final release it will cost approx. 29 euro incl. TVA.

Thanks for the tip, I'll have a look at it Smile

I installed it under WHS which is a packaged version of Server 2003 i.e. the server version of XP.
What is the reason that you believe it could not be installed on XP?
It will only install WMC extensions on Vista and WIN7 and ignore that on other OS's.
NB: you have to use TVSource 2.0 not 1.0!! You will find it under DVBLink 2.

Your feeling about Vista I share. I reverted back from Vista to XP but since the first public beta of WIN7 I am a believer and am now running Win7 on all pc's and laptops. You will not regret it.

Aaaaah! My mistake :o

Then it's still hope Smile. I'v been testing the early versions of W7 and I agree it looks promising, but I don't beleive that it is fully debugged yet, and after spending almost 30 years of debugging programs (both my own and others) I'd leave it to others Big Grin

But yes, in due time I will switch to Win7.

You will be pleasantly surprised with WIN7. I am very happy with it. It is realy how Vista should have been and no worry about bugs. I have not found any major one and btw: I am working with computers for over 40 years, starting with tabelating machines from IBM Big Grin so you may now guess how old I am Wink

I guess you are a few years older than me, when I started with computers we had only 7-track magnetic tape, 8-hole papertape and, of cource, cards. No hard disks Smile

But to the subject, I'v got the server installed but how should the entry in the bda-ini file look? And do you just place the Acamd files in the .plugin folder? What about ffdecsa.dll and pthreadVC2.dll?
