I'm lost and confused now. I had some bad memory on my machine just got it replaced, and now I lost all QAM functionality that was working solid before, but of course with the bad memory I got lots of BSOD.

Now Vista seems solid, I had already installed TV Pack never hacked my registry QAM was working just a few weeks ago.

Should GBPVR work with TV Pack or is it and absolute no go with TV Pack? If not I think I will need to re-install vista to get GBPVR working again...

I have TVpack and it's not caused any problems with GBPVR. However, I've not had much luck with my 2250 and GBPVR and QAM and though I've tried many drivers, it's just not happening. Other tuners I have such as the 1600 and HDHomerun work as well. Why some have better luck than others, I don't know but I do see Hauppauge working hard in getting updated drivers out regularly. I hope that continues.

The TV Pack is not necessary for GBPVR, only for Windows Media Center.

I know I don't need TVPack. Sub says there are incompatibility issues, but he didn't clarify if its only if you made the regedits or if he thinks it will affect all sorts of things.

TV Pack did screw up somethings. WinTV v6 isn't getting QAM either for me. I saw some other commenting on this on the www too.

I'll see if I can load the TV Pack Sunday and try to figure out what's happening. I want to image my drive first though.

I thought just loading TV Pack would be benign. It seemed to be after loading it even without a fresh Vista image. It was only later I noticed that GBPVR digital mapping no longer worked. I only wanted to do an update after having completed most of the mapping already. It wouldn't redo the scan, and then when I posted the logs, Sub said that it wouldn't work with TV Pack.

Now I see that WinTV v6 doesn't work too. Or rather everything can still do Analog but no QAM.

My only theory now is that my cable provider redid their QAM lineup so I need to redo the scan and mapping. I cannot do this anymore.

Paul, I think TV pack is your problem with the 2250. Perhaps TV Pack affects the 2250 differently then your other tunners. But its just a theory.

I think I'll try my 2250 in an old XP box. If the hardware still works fine, I guess I'll need to re-image Vista.

You could be right Howard as I know a few other people with TVpack and the 2250 who have problems but also some (just 2 really) that don't.
Using the 2250 in W7 which has tvpack included, I have the same problems. I'm pretty sure I tried my XP boot and got nowhere but since I rarely use XP and forget things easily, I'll give that a try as well just to see if your theory is correct. Got a busy day so it might be tonite or tomorrow before I get back to you.

Well, XP and the 2250-GBPVR combination finds plenty of QAM channels. No TVPack here of course. This is with the July 2008 drivers as I've not tried the Jan. 2009 drivers in XP yet. Might not as it's working.
So Howard, your theory has gained another convert for now. Big Grin

Yup. I've never re-installed an OS, but I have no other way to get TV Pack off. I guess it should be strait forward, but then I'll need to re-install every app...yuk.. AIs there any easy way to do this?

I beta tested TVPack and they told us the only way to remove it was Format C:
