I'm wanting to use Video libray and VideosLibrary with different directories is that possible?

Basically i want to use Video Library (without delete) for things i want to save, and VideosLibrary for temporary things that my girlfriend will watch and allow to delete.

Since the two will be names the same on the menu, it might be a little confusing at first, but worth it!

That did the trick. Now does the movie.dvd show the thumbnails and info. Great!!

@prada115: Originally both plugins use the same library settings in the config.exe. So I do not think it's a simple thing.
Maybe it is possible to do an xml-tweak to split them...

The similarity in names is easier to fix. Add a new row in language.xml and rename one of them to something suitable.
Here is an example:
<translate originalText="Videos Library" translatedText="Sandras Videos"/>

@prada115: Use the attached dll until the next release. You'll have to manually copy the config.xml key <VideoLibraryDirectory> into the videos library plugin section. If that section doesn't exist, run config.exe and accept the default settings to create it. This is going to remain a manual process since making it a visible option would probably confuse more than help other people.

Looks awesome, although I am accessing a network server with 500 movies in it and it keeps locking up for about 5 seconds each time i move down one movie selection. This pause does not occur in the normal video library. In small directories it is fine. Any ideas on how to resolve?

I was waiting for people to report performance issues before trying to optimize folder browsing. The problem is twofold: it does a database lookup every time a new video file is made visible and, on top of that, certain actions (plus every several minutes) cause the entire folder to be reloaded and the db cache cleared.

I have some ideas. That said, I'm not sure why it's taking five seconds for you. How long does it take Video and Videos to load the folder initially? If you move the selection up and down until roughly a screenful of video files appears cached then delete a file (however you want to do this - eg make a new .txt file and rename it as .avi), how long does it take before you can move again? Subsequent moves?

You may have seen the post in Community announcement, but as it is posted in a otherwise unrelated thread; Mayhem3, you might miss it:
MixMan Wrote:Bugs in plugin
I found that the plugin affects translations and causes english to appear in orher plugins. The plugin also has a hardcoded name for the gbpvr.db3 database.

Those bugs seem a bit suspect. Plugins are supposedly not able to interact with each other, so the translation bug doesn't seem possible. And there are no references gbpvr.db3, only a call to the built-in "DatabaseHelperFactory.getDbConnectionString()".

I sometimes I use different card setups so I change the name of the database to a different name and change the database name in config.xml
If I rename gbpvr.db3 to tvpvr.db3 and use the video library, the plugin will have problems. Perhaps something in PVRX2 is hardcoded for plugins.

The plugin affect translations for both internal and external plugins....so they start using english instead of translations.

The plugin also affects the web radio plugin so the webradio does not load the XML files. Strange.... but it happens.

Ignore these findings if I'm the only one that noticed them.
I am satiesfied with the built in video library, even though you improved the functionality.
Best Regards

I have noticed the translation problem as well. I did not make the connection to the Videos Library though...

But the web radio issue, on the other hand, have not been seen on my machine, yet.

Hi,

I just installed the plugin for the first time, as soon as I select it from my menu I get an unhandled exception error. I've attached the text of the exception.

Any ideas?
