Stability issues?

I'm having some trouble with LiveTV playback with my Nova-T USB2. Essentially what happens is that on certain channels the playback doesn't start, though sound is fine. Sometimes changing channel up/down can help kick-start things, but usually not. I'm using the MainConcept MPEG Video Decoder for MPEG-2 playback, with FFDSHOW post-processing switched on.

Has anyone else come across this issue? Anywhere I can start looking to break down what the problem is and set a fix?

try turning off ffdshow...it's such a processor hog it's probably starving your usb2 connection for processor time...[usb2 uses lots of processor to work, faster the data, more the cpu]
also try lowering the recording bitrate...shouldn't have to but if all else fails...

With FFD switched off, and rolling back to DirectX 9.0b, I'm still getting issues with changing channels. The picture just hangs. I could handle a couple of seconds pause, but it doesn't pick up. I've also switched off deinterlacing.

I can switch channel in WinTV2000 without an issue, so I'm guessing its GBPVR.

You might try an other decoder and/or other settings for vmr7/vmr9/overlay (wintv2000 uses overlay afaik).

I seem to have sorted it... in a round-about way.

Currently, I'm using InterVideo for MPEG2 playback and BDA multiplexing, with FFDSHOW turned off, and Encoder pass-through deinterlacing switched on. Channel changes are much faster, and stability has improved, though I've lost the channel guide at the bottom of the screen while surfing channels. It isn't so much of a problem, but would be nice if I could get it back and keep the stability.

Having no OSD graphics is usually a sign you're trying to use the Cyberlink decoder with VMR. These two arnt compatible until a couple of Cyberlink registry settings are added.

Can you reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log?
