Sometimes, after a hibernate, there is no sound in Live TV. At this point I start the WinTV2000 application and close it. Now there Live TV has actually have sound.

I Had similar problems with the pvr150. Driver updates didn't help, but I found out that after I started and stopped winTV2K that there was sound in live TV.
My workaround:
I created a batch file which starts up at boot, to start a 1 sec recording, exit the WinTV and delete the recording. After that I have sound on Live TV.

Here's how:

C:\PROGRA~1\WinTV\WinTV2K.EXE -c41 -nss -nc -ntod -startr -limit:1 -exitr -mute
del c:\MYVIDEOS\ /Q

note: first line is path to wintv2k, del line is line to default recorder path for hauppauge tv recordings.

Hope this helps

i've tried a couple of things now, among them removing the drivers with the hauppauge tool, and then reinstalling the newest ones. current status is that i still have no sound when watching live tv. but if i activate timeshift mode by pausing live tv and then push play, i get sound! i can change channels by using the number keys since that leaves timeshift mode active, but as soon as i deactivate timeshift i loose sound again...

it's strange, but i don't think i'll put to much energy into it at the moment. i hardly ever watch tv thru gbpvr anyways, i mostly use it to record with and that works fine.

anyways, thanks for trying guys!

I had roughly the same thing happen. My setup had taken to going to black & white with no audio at random times.

So I blew everything away and reinstalled (including windows). I did upgrade the CPU, but all other hardware was the same.

Now most drivers give me no sound. The Hauppage beta drivers work. More or less. After a channel change the image takes a while to settle down, the colors are distorted for maybe five to ten seconds. And the audio is far from perfect; it's far too soft. There's a vast difference between the captured audio level and the windows audio level.

To be able to listen to the tv I have to turn it up such that there is an audible hiss.

The older drivers give either no sound or loud noise.

Having the same problems here. Video seems to run ok, but there's no sound. I tried it on several different programs, and the problem's still there. Same problem with recordings. At first, I used the latest beta drivers. Then I uninstalled and went with the latest official drivers - same problem.

DVDs and mpgs playback nicely. I've fooled around with the audio settings, but to no avail. I'm running XP 64, BTW Smile

Son of a Gun! I'm having a similar problem. I haven't been able to get any sound coming out of my PVR150.

Using straight cable (RF) directly into the Tuner Card. I've uninstalled and re-installed various drivers (and re-boot) to no avail. Most of the time my video has been decent, although GB-PVR is having some rendering problems.

PIII 866 MHz, 512 MB Ram, Geforce 5500 FX, I don't remember exactly the motherboard. Running on Windows XP SP 2.

I'm kind've bummed out as I had heard a lot of good things about this TV card and installed it into my computer to see how this PC-PVR thing works.

Installed the latest drivers (but didn't run hwclear.exe)... so maybe I need to remove everything, install the base drivers, and install the beta drivers.

I did some googling, and it looks like we're not alone with this problem. I mailed Hauppauge Support yesterday about the problem. Let's see what they reply Smile

Well, I'm having a very similar (probably related) problem.
I am seeing the same long settling time for channels, and I get no audio if I try to view LiveTV from analog channels on the 150. Recording a channel doesn't help either - no sound. The MPG file has no sound either.
After fiddling a bit with channel changes, the tuner dies on me and starts giving things that look like out-of-tuning, but close to the channel, and then I might get a sharp screeching sound for audio.
If I try to view LiveTV or record off the Satellite box, I get good audio! the picture takes time to settle, still, and if I fiddle with it - I also get to the screechy point and then even the recording from the composite input looks like the out-of-tune of analog!

I used to have a working setup with latest HAU drivers (latest official), and the problems started for me when I tried to install the timestamp issue fixer.

Having checked past days recordings I conclude that I was mistaken - I did not have a working setup.

About 9 hours ago I decided to quiet down my PVR machine, by putting a ZALMAN heat sink instead of the miniature fan on the nForce4. After the installation (took about a hour) I checked recordings and they seemed to be problematic (that's when I realized they were never really OK - see above).

I have spent the next 8 hours until now trying to reconfigure something that I now know never did work. Frustrated, I decided to put back my ATI550 card, and return the 150 to the store early next week.

Sorry people if I misled anyone.

One thing I must add is the fact that GB 09612 never really recognized my 150. It always said there is only 250/250 with FM/350 in the box. I had to set up the 350 as Capture Device #2 nevertheless! The 150 I simply said 150 and used it as Capture Device #1.
