Hi all. I've been a single tuner GB-PVR user for a while now and think it's great.

I'm currently setting up a spare PC for use as a full-time PVR, and plan to use it with a Media MVP client.

I've had lots of success so far, and am able to record from both tuners at the same time, but I feel that my channel scanning and setup for each tuner may be inconsistent, as a result of configuring both seperately.

My question is this..... Is it possible to clone the channel tuning configuration from Tuner 1 and use it to configure Tuner 2?

Hope you can help. - Thanks,

No, you need to set them both up manually.

I'd like to add a tiny piece of info here.
When you have 2 tuners, especially if they are not identical, the same channels might not be "found" on the exact same frequency. Usually the card would auto-fine-tune but -
I have a Haup. 350 and a 150.
Some channels I can find by setting the country, set to 'cable' and use the channel number. Most channels in Israel are found on MM.250MHz (like 62.250, 232.250, etc).
Now my 350 find some channels slightly off, at MM.312500.
Oddly enough, the 150 finds channels slightly off too (same amount), but they are not the same channels.

I'm seeing this with two identical Twinhan DVB-T tuners.

For example, Tuner1 finds ABC1, but Tuner 2 does not. I use a two-way splitter, and initially thought that the splitting was unbalanced, resulting in a different lineup per Tuner.
However, when I swap over the aerial cables, Tuner1 _still_ finds ABC1 whilst Tuner2 _still_ does not.

Strange.

LesMcQueen - that would indicate that the cards are not truly identical. Did you buy them at the same time? Many times, the manufacturers make changes along the way...
For example, a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR350 from a year ago looks different than a new one. Different parts, trying to save some money... This could theoretically cause minor differences in reception and in digital reception - all the more.

As far as I'm aware, they were purchased at the same time. Most strange.

I have made some headway. I used the site at....
http://www.wolfbane.com/cgi-bin/tvd.exe?
..to determine the best transmitter to use.
I'd been using the 'All Regions' method of scanning for channels which resulted in a lot of 'unknown' channels being found. As soon as I select a specific transmitter to scan, I get a consistent channel line-up across both tuners. Big Grin Big Grin

It's now tons easier to configure both tuners, as I'm not having to wade through lots of unreferenced (ghosted?) channels with varying signal strength.

GB-PVR is now working beautifully with two tuners, and I'm so glad I decided to send back the Toppy I purchased in favour of building my own PVR.

Thanks a million SUB. Your efforts are appreciated.
