TV Picture not displaying

Ok, so I'm a noob at this so just a few questions... I set everything up, signed up for a Zap2It account to download the guide info and yet I can't get a picture to show up... All I see is red and black lines across the screen... I have a Hauppauge 150 card and I just installed a MPEG2 video codec... When I run the Tunning Assistant it shows the channels fine, but I can't get it to run through the actual GB PVR program... Any ideas on what I should do to fix this? Let me know if there is any more info you need and I'll provide it...

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Here you go... Thanks for a quick response... I've tried a few different codecs and nothing has worked...

I'd first try switching from VMR to Overlay. If that doesnt work, try the MPEG2 decode from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gplmpgdec

ok, well I tried switching it and downloading the MPEG2 decode from the site you mentioned... still nothing... What would cause it to show up fine in the tuning assistant but not in the actual GB-PVR program itself?

Also I just reformatted my HD and have a completely clean version of WinXP Pro...

Problems with the MPEG2 decoder. The tuning assistant just uses raw video, whereas GB-PVR uses video out of the device's MPEG2 encoder.

Can you record a file?

Nope, I tried that as well... it records it, but I am unable to view the file...

Do you have anything on you machine that will play an MPEG2 file? Can you play an MPEG2 file in Windows Media Player?

Um, I'm not sure if I have any files that are MPEG2 so I can't answer that...
