WinTV 2000 can show output on both the PVR-350 and the Windows monitor simultaneously. Can you make GBPVR do that too? That would be great - especially since you have to reconfigure and restart GBPVR to switch.
No, this is not possible. You have to choose one or the other.
I had originally intended to implement this, but widespread problems with the PVR350 drivers locking up prompted me to ditch supporting the PVR350's tv out.
When WinTV2000 does it, it uses hardware decoding to display on the PVR350 tv out, and software decoding to display on the monitor.
Does that mean I should use the software decoder and not the hardware - tv-out on the PVR card? And is this why my machine freezes quite often when running GBPVR? It does not freeze running other programs.
Should I buy another TV card and which do you recommend? PVR-150, 500 ?

Even though I dont actively support the PVR350 tv out, people are welcome to keep using this feature. If your machine keeps locking up then it sounds like you're one of the unlucky ones, and this wont be a viable option.

Yes, but they dont use the PVR350 hardware decoder + OSD. The only other application that does, SageTV, suffers from the same problem. There is no work around - though some poeple have got lucky by replacing there motherboard.

The PVR350 is fine as a capture card. The problem only occurs when you're using the tv out.
