I'm trying to figure out a way to do simple recording, without all the scheduling features. From time to time it would be handy to just be able to have a play and stop button to record things from VHS. Right now I'm switching back to WinTV for that, but that takes disabling a GBPVR service and a a restart. I'm hoping there's an easier way that I overlooked.

Thanks in advanced for any replies!!!!

WinTV is by far the best solution for this. But this is highly unusual that you have to stop the GBPVR recording service and restart? Are you sure this is neccessary?

Yeah, what said. WinTV2000 is much better suited to this task, and you shouldnt need to stop anything - just make sure you're not recording at the time.

Whenever I run WinTV2000 it takes control of the IR channel changer, which can be annoying - I just have to remember to open and close GB-PVR config after closing wintv.

cheers,

You shouldnt have to. GB-PVR gets control of the IR Blaster every time HaupBlast.exe is run from the '.exe channel changer'. In the old days GB-PVR used to grab control of the IR Blaster at start up, and would have problems if you opened WinTV.

You're right of course - I mustn't have tried it since switching to the .exe channel changer option. Thanks sub - one more step to leave out of my start-up script. (now if I can only figure out how to make the Saturn box start in an "on" state after a power outage...)

cheers,

Ok, I'll try the WinTV some more.......I'll get a detailed message if it gives me any trouble. Thanks for the replies, sorry about the delayed response.
