Howdy,

GBPVR was recommended to me by a friend and I really want to to give it a go.

It seems to have installed properly, but when config.exe tries to run it says it encountered a problem and needs to close ... nothing more specific than that.

The computers is an AMD Athlon 2500+Mobile/ATI 9600AIW (is this card supported) and an old SB LIVE! 5.1

I'm sorry I can't provide any more details. HAs anyone encountered this problem?

Yes to WMP10
Pseudo-yes to net 1.1. The windows download link for the 1.1 redist. was busted so I was forced to use 2.0. Is 2.0 a problem?

Edit: Im currently having to use the computer via RealVNC ... im many miles away from the computer and wont be physically present for some time.

Yes, it is a problem. You have to have version 1.1
system 1 - PVR-250 and HVR-1600

system 2 - PVR-150 and HVR-1600

You don't need to uninstall 2.0 - in fact you'll need it for the next version. Both versions can co-exist on the same machine.

the real problem is getting 1.1. I can't get the download from MS, the link is toast.

The AIW cards do not work with GBPVR.

Not sure if you might be able to get it going using the software decoder plugin.

search the forums for AIW for good and bad news - it looks like at least one person has it working.

I had started with an AIW 9800Pro... loved the card, got it all setup and working with the software plugin, and recording was so stuttered that I returned the whole setup and bought a PVR150. The reason for me really is that the computer is NOT just a pvr machine, I use it for other things and when it was being used for anything else, the software encoder could not keep up and dropped many frames (never audio though). Even when not using the PC at all and recording, after 35-40 mins of continuous recording, it started to drop frames... Too much hassle... Just my 2c.

Love my 150, works great!
