remote is all messed up

Something weird has just happened that I cannot fix. I used the F7 button to change the aspect ratio of a video I was watching. After that , the remote stopped working period. I rebooted and found that nothing in the startup menu was autostarting (gbpvrtray.exe , autostartIR ) I reset the aspect ratio and the startup items are now starting but the back/exit button on the remote is mimicing the windows ket and bringing up the start menu. I have tried the "fix Hauppauge 45 button remote" button without success. Idea's??????

Update , only in GBPVR does the back/exit button pull up the Start Menu. At the desktop or Wintv it does not do it.

Sounds like something is screwed up in the Hauppauge irremote.ini file.

Have you tried click the 'fix hauppauge remote settings' button in the config app? If that doesnt work you might need to delete the irremote.ini file, and reinstall the Hauppauge remote software so it creates a new clean one.

That did it. Thanks. I can't figure out how the sequence of events could have corrupted that file? I had looked over that irremote.ini file yesterday but most of it looked Greek to me anyways so I wouldn't have seen a problem anyways.
