Stuck in Menu, Doesn't Open Viewer

When I try to play any recorded shows GB-PVR stays at the menu screen with the play/exit/delete popup window still open. I hear the show playing but am still looking at the menu screen. It does this when I try to play them through the Video Libraries panel too but only with mpegs, avis play fine.

That did it, thanks. I switched to InterVideo CSS, is that a recomended decoder?
