I'm quite sure you realized that it is remarkable that your friends setup would suffer the same problem, because it is not a very common problem. Do your and your friends setup have special things in common, you probably asked this yourself too.

I'll add myself to the list as well. Intermittent no sound on pvr150. AFAIK only a reboot gets rid of the problem once it's happened.

Missing sound is quite common on PVR150's (compared to other cards), but your problem is different to the specific issue the poster has described. His problem is that audio is missing after reboot (until he changes channels).

Lindsay, if one of these two machines is on broadband, and you're willing, you could set up some remote connectivity (vnc or similar), I could connect and take a look. I may not be able to fix anything, but there is a couple of things I could check.

Both machines are on broadband so mine is the clear choice.

If I install vnc do I need to poke a hole through my nat router? If so, what port forward do I need? I will do some swat on vnc!

Thanks for the offer.

Sub my PC is set up for VNC access and I seem to be having the same problem. I'll PM you the connection address and password. Hopefully it will prove helpful.

Same problem here (sometimes)

I run this from a batchfile at startup:

C:\PROGRA~1\WinTV\WinTV2K.EXE -c41 -nss -nc -ntod -startr -limit:1 -exitr -mute

This records a second of tv using wintv2000. This fixes the sound.

Okay, I've looked closely at one machine that has this problem, and as far as I can tell, everything is behaving correct, with no errors except the missing sound at boot up.

I've contacted Hauppauge about this issue this morning. They've asked for a couple of bits of info. If you have PRECISELY this problem - 'no audio on PVR150 immediately after reboot' then please post the following:

1) Your country
2) The version of the drivers you're running
3) The output of ProdInfo (attached)

3. Prodinfo says "No Device Data Available" and "No Version Data Available".
Sounds peculiar!

Thats odd. If you post a GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log that has done at least one recording, it should have the tuner and revision info I'm looking for.
