Hi all

I'm getting some odd occurances when using GBPVR with my NOVA-T USB2. Basically, I'm set up using the Cyberlink decrypters where-ever there's an option to (this gives me the best play-back). When changing channels, however, its hit or miss whether I'll actually get any video playback. Audio's fine, but I just get a blank screen. Changing back to the previous channel (or the channel which was OK before surfing) restarts playback for that channel, but changing again causes the same problem. eg:

Channel 3 - OK
> Channel 4 - blank screen
> Channel 3 - OK
> Channel 4 > Channel 5 - blank screen
> Channel 6 > Channel 7 - blank screen
> Channel 3 - OK

I'm at a loss as to how to fix this. Using the hauppauge TV app things are fine, and it seems as though I've got > 80% signal strength for all DVB channels.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

Maybe running reregister filters.bat works?
I'm not always right

Are you using live preview mode, and viewing on your monitor?

What video decoder are you using?

Yes, I'm using Live Preview mode, and viewing on my monitor.

I've tried all the different options for Decoding (Intervideo, Cyberlink, Nero, GPL MPEG-1/2) and the BDA Multiplexer in all the combinations I can, and it happens for all combos.

It does the same with Live Preview mode switched off.

Any ideas what it might be?

I'm not sure. Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach a set of logs and I'll take a look.

I've attached all the logs I can find. There should be occurances scattered about.

It seems to be certain channels where it happens. Currently, its BBC3 and BB4 which are most noticable.

I'm fairly sure this is fixed in the new v0.97.7 release. The specific item from the change log was:
Quote:- Fixed a bug with using the DVR-MS mux with timeshift mode tv.

When I saw in your logs you were using DVR-MS, it reminded me.

sub - remember I did an experiment a while back with Live Preview? I can't remember which version of GB-PVR it was.

Basically, if I stepped through the channels using the arrow keys, if the next channel was on a different MUX, I would get a black screen. If the next channel after that was on the same MUX as the previous (black screen channel) all would be OK and if I stepped back to the previous that would be OK too. As long as the next channel was on the same MUX it was fine but changing MUX created a problem.

I might be wrong but it sounds familiar. I can't remember which version it appeared in or when you fixed it. It was Live Preview and not timeshift mode - I'm pretty sure.

Cheers,
Brian

I upgraded last night, and experienced the same issues with live preview on.

I turned off live preview, and it happened again. I quit at that point, and have attached the logs up until then.

After some more testing, I've found its BBC3, BBC4, Five, and a few other channels I don't use often.

Whats strange about it is that these channels are on the same "DVB channels" as other channels - BBC3 and BBC1/2 are all on 53, and BBC1/2 both work fine.

Seems mad, to tell the truth, although I've found it doesn't work on WinTV2000 either. Which is interesting. Can't figure out why its not working though.
