hi.
1st, again, this program is very good. Thank you for that.

I have a 350 hauppauge card.

1) it works 95% of the time, but sometimes, i try to watch a show i recorded, it plays about 10sec of black screen then kicks me back to the menu.
nothing i can do, the filesize looks about correct, same thing from wmplayer.

However if i try to play the file through my DVD software player it works.
I am not sure why it does that sometimes. Like the file is corrupted, or a different format. But i set gbpvr 1 time and never really changed the settings, so that can't be my settings.

2) last time was weird. 1 hour show. 1st 15min were perfect, then the sound stopped working, then came back 10min before the end of the show.
I can fast forward and rewind, the sound is still not there. Same behavior with DVD player and wmplayer.
It is not at play runtime that it has the problem, the file itself has "muted" sound in the middle.

either the feed from the cable company just sent me muted audio, or something happened on my end. No idea. Any suggestion?

I have an Nvdia card with TV out that i'd like to use instead of the TV out from the 350 card, but it looks like i can't get the OSD with menus all integrated nicely on the TV out unless i make the TV to be the primary display from the windows display properties, is there a trick?
I'd like to get TV out with TV and menus all together (with the visualizations and tv guide with the little preview window in it).

Thank you!

I'm guessing these are bugs relating to the PVR350 TV out. It would be worth see if you have these problems when using you nvidia TV out.

Are you using Overlay or VMR for your video playback?

I found I coudn't have the OSD when I used overlay on my cloned TV out display. Try setting it to VMR9 and see how that goes.

Also, sometimes my recordings are corrupt somehow - they produce a file - but when I try and watch through GBPVR, they show all black - but I found that if I skip forward once, it plays and I can then skip back to the start of the program - then it's fine. (could be the same issue as yours)

Does anyone know how to fix a recording like this so that it's not corrupt (as I cant actually load it into TMPGenc to do some editing on it (I really cant re-record the program as it's a one off (celebration with Chelsea winning the premiership)

Thanks

hey guys,

thanks for replying,

well nvidia tv out, i dont think this would make a diff.
my pvr has a svga as main screen, but TV from the 350.
playing the corrupt file from wmv shows it on the svga, showing the same problem, and also i mount the drive on my laptop, and even there, the file is corrupt the same way. only the dvd player would show it.
same thing for the no audio, except that no player can get it to work. the file is truely corrupt in the middle. but it only happened once in a few months, so maybe it was my cable provider. (always possible as i was not around to make sure my cable was working fine).
Thank you!
