Web server Error Please help

Hi,

I can get the sever to work when entering http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/login.aspx

However I can get it when using the IP address of the router.

I have a netgear DG834GT and I have added a service to open port 7647 then I have set up firewall rule which sends to lan server i.e my ip address 192.168.0.2

http://172.213.164.199:7647/gbpvr/login.aspx

I have checked and the above is the correct IP address for the router


All i get is an error can not display the web page. I have tried different ports with no success Please if you have any ideas I would really appreciate them as this is really annoying.

I have set up other rules for ports in the same way on this router and been able to have game servers run from my pc and have others join and play over the net.

hit the link and it seems to get to the login page... may be the machine you're trying to run remotely..check IT's ports and security..[anti-vir,firewalls,etc.] youre system is working..the machine you're accessing it from isn't..

Ok so whats the problem any ideas? I took of my firewall, antivirus etc.

I have tried another comp in the house on the local network and still no access. I should be able to see it by typing in that address.

I typed in using my local ip 192.168.x.x and it worked fine.

What could the problem be thats stopping me see it and you saying it works fine?

I just tried the link and it works fine for me too
It could just be a function of your routet, not wanting to go to its won ip from inside itself

thats the way it should work, use your local lan ip addess 192.xxx etc to access it internally, use the router ip address 172.xxx etc when accessing it from the WAN.

Thanks all for checking yeah that must be the case then.

Its just I can access the roter config page by putting in the external IP rather than its internal one so I just thought id be able to with this.
