Hi, I'm a noob to GBPVR, but loving everything so far!!! The only thing I am having trouble with is DVD navigation. The DVD plays fine, but I loose all control of GBPVR, no remote commands accepted, no keyboard commands accepted. The only way out is to ctl-alt-del and stop GBPVR from the task manager (won't even alt-f4 in window mode). I've read as much as I can from the wiki and forums and tried the following:
1) VMR7, VMR9, overlay options
2) All possible permutations of Intervideo, Cyberlink and Default navigation and codec options
3) Starting WMP and playing the DVD from there (all works fine with navigation) then trying again with GBPVR (still no navigation.... )

I'm not sure what to do next - getting this working really would make my day!

BTW I normally use VLC for DVD playback (and all other media files) - it works perfectly (including dolby dig decoding to SPDIF) without needing any 'help' from Cyberlink et all - is there no way of getting GBPVR to use whatever codecs/navigation VLC is using (I get an AC3filter dropdown in the audio config, but no navigation equivalent)?

Other info:
Athlon XP2600, Hauppauge HVR1300, ATI 9550, GBPVR 96.12 and now 97.07 too!

***edit*** Oops, forgot to say a big thanks to everyone involved in creating this marvelous bit of softrware in the first place!!!

One other guy had a problem similiar to this. I'm not sure why.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll see if I can see anything. Try using the 'DVD Navigator' + intervideo decoders

No, this is not possible. It does not provide Directshow components.

Try playing a dvd at least once in wmp see http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...#post63916. The microsoft dvd navigator needs to be run once for it to be available in other applications.

Hi sub, thanks for the quick reply - I really appreciate this. Logs attached, let me know if i'm missing any files you need.

Just to be sure, I did a clean install of GBPVR97.07 with no plugins and ran a region2 pal legit dvd disc from my drive - although the problem is repeatable with .iso .img etc played with deamon tools and/or magic disk. I've also noticed that the same thing happens whether i play a dvd via the DVD button, or browse to a VIDEO_TS folder in the video library.

The problem seems to be independant of the playback codec settings - I downloaded a bunch of MPEG2 freebies from the net and the same thing happens with any of them selected. These logs were created with DVD navigator and intervideo codecs selected though, as you suggested.

Hope this sheds some light.....

****edit**** logs atached further down this thread......

Yes, I really have trawled the forums for ideas already, including the WMP trick.
I'm having a few problems getting the zip file to upload - is there an ftp or email I can send it to...?

Usually support@gbpvr.com works. It goes to sub. He usually wants you to include a reference back to the (this) thread, so he knows what it's about.

OK here's the log - sorry for the messing about there, I'd put an 8meg .hdmp file in that was rather slowing things down!

I am also having the same problems no matter what Decoder I use. Everything else works great, jsut DVD playback. During DVD playback, if I use the DVD navigator it locks it up as you previsouly said. But if I use Intervideo Navigator it says "Unable to Start DVD Playback". Here are my logs as well but it sounds like the same issue. If you someone to try something I am VERY willing to try about anything!
