Hi,

I've been having some reoccuring problems with gbpvr crashes (terminated by windows, so the log-files are incoclusive). This is the story:

I've got a Hauppage HVR 1300 card btw.
All recordings in DVR-MS format.

* Using XP Pro, things worked fine for a while (weeks) then it started crashing on me.
* Re-installed GBPVR without any plugins - didn't help
* Installed XP Home instead, worked fine for a while, then started crashing again.
* Searched forums and found leads to that it may have been a demux problem
* Installed showshifter, and GBPVR started working again
* It started crashing a couple of weeks ago and this time it didn't help to reinstall Showshifter
* Installed a trial version of Intervideo DVD player, and it started working again.
* This morning it stopped working again, at the same time that the Intervideo trial period was over.

I know the demux shouldn't stop working when the trial period is over, but that's the way it looks to me...

Now here's the part which makes this post possibly on the wrong forum: It's not only GBPVR that crashes. It's any program with which I try to play my recorded DVR-MS files with, including the Windows Media Player (!). It also happens in LiveTV mode.

I've searched the forums, and googled about it, but can find no real clues. Please help me (or the wife will probably kill me for us having no TV).

Any more info I can provide to get help, or is this a known problem ?

Anyone ? Please ?

With the best of Regards - John

Here's my muxchecker output:

Found: ShowShifter MPEG PS Writer
FILE: C:\Program\Home Media Networks Limited\ShowShifter\MpegWriter.ax
VERSION: 3.12.0.2945

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\WINDOWS\system32\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0727

Attached please find gbpvr and native logs.

Talking to myself here...but anyway. Smile

This is not a mux-problem - it's a decoder problem.

I found that VLC (VideoLAN) could play back the dvr-ms files after them beeing processed by dvrmstoolbox, but not WMP or gbpvr.

Installed dscaler decoder and now everything works except gbpvr...
