First of all let me thank you for creating such a wonderful software, it has worked fine for me on my previous computer, I recently built a P3 HTPC and installed the latest version of GBPVR, the system detected my winpvr usb 2 and I have the latest drivers for that as well but when I go to capture source tab in GBPVR it says no capture device installed on the system, if I ignore the message and finish running the epg when I click ok it says drivers for the capture card are not installed, I have tried uninstalling the pvr driver and reinstalling it, can anyone help me?

That happened to me. I selected the winpvr 2 usb and that took care of the problem

that doesnt work for me, when I watch wintv 2000 I can see the live tv but in gb pvr I get the error failed to locate configured capture device, one thing I think maybe the cause is the new happauge drivers, on my older system I am using the older drivers from the cd

Did you try selecting the "PVR2 USB2" option rather than the "PVR USB2" option?

hey sub yeah I did try selecting that option as well, when I go to the live tv section it says failed to detect configured capture device even though I can watch live tv in wintv2000, do you think it may be the new happauge drivers I installed?

It was a problem for me, I have the same device you do. I had to:

1) reboot
2) open WinTV (change a channel while you're in there too)
3) quit WinTV
4) open the GBPVR Config and specify USB2 PVR2 and set it up.

It *should work*. I've been in there since and it hasn't told me again the device isn't configured. I think the new Hauppauge drivers are a little... flakey.

You could always revert to the previous ones. If you don't have them or they are not available from Hauppauge's site anymore, I may have them. I could probably attach them or PM them to you. They are small zip archives.

I went through this last weekend. I did the remove and hcwclear and then reinstalled everything. I selected the PVR2 USB2 and mine is working. If other solutions don't work, you might try that.

I will post the logs today, should I hwclear and install the old happauge drivers or use the new drivers for the winpvr usb2?

If you have no fear of reinstalling, that is what I would do. If you have customized your irremote.ini file, make a copy of that first as it will be overwritten when you reinstall the remote software. I would use the new drivers. The only thing to remember is that with the new drivers, even a PVR USB2 will show up as a PVR2USB2, so check your GB-PVR config and adjust accordingly. GBP would not find it when I check the box to only show installed capture devices. But, it worked fine when I selected the PVR2 USB2. Good luck.
