I'm going to post my logs later tonight if it happens again. Strange that it only seems to happen after the scheduled EPG update. I can manually update all day long with no issues. Who knows, I zapped the MDB and reselected my zap2it settings, maybe it won't happen again.

Didn't happen today. I typically blame Zap2it before GBPVR and I'd bet that it's the case here too. If it happens again I will post logs here.
Thanks

I was working with someone a couple of days ago setting up a xmltv EPG download utility, and they reported that the xmltv downloader gave a message about invalid data.

I re-downloaded my xmltv listings from Zap2It that same day as a test, and encountered this message, and others.
video element: expected a Perl Boolean like 0 or 1, not ‘Color and B & W'
I watched the download again yesterday (I believe), and today, and there have been no problems reported. Everything is acting normal again.

Zap2It was sending corrupt data a day or two ago, no question about it, but was it the first time?
The xmltv file was clean when I searched for errors after the "problem" download, and it loaded into GBPVR without errors. xmltv must have just dropped the corrupt data lines. v96.12 probably does something similar because I've never had the problem using it.

Thought I’d report it just incase it helps track down the problem.

It just happened again, of course now I am using I-xmltv, so that confuses the issue. Logs attached, I was messing with web admin and restarting the recording service so I don't know what time it happened at, it auto updates the epg at 10am on my machine

zip and email your database (either gbpvr.mdb of gbpvr.db3) to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

It's best to wait for sub to check this out.
But if you can, post your I-xmltv.log, and save a copy of the EPG files before tomorrows update.
That way if sub needs them, you have a copy of the actual epg that was loaded, and the individual xmltv downloads.
And please take a few minutes to install the final version of I-xmltv I just posted.

unfortunately I'm at work now, so the logs and MDB have to wait... I changed channel lineups in zap2it also... For my zip code (60115) it shows two different comcast cable lineups:
Comcast
Comcast - Rebuild

I was always using Comcast, then one day about 2 weeks ago, channels above 61 disappeared. I checked out zap2it and found the new Comcast - Rebuild lineup and switched to that since it included all my channels. I think that's when my troubles started happening, so that reinforces that it's a Zap2it issue.

I have switched back to the one that is missing channels (I changed it last night, emptied all my epg and XMLTV data and reloaded. Now the new linup includes channel 62, so I wonder if Zap2it is doing maintenance on their lineups. I am going to email them and see if I get a response.

Sorry I was so jumpy to change things instead of helping diagnose, I'm going to be out of town a few days next week and want a "sure thing" so I can play with remote management.

Edit: Nevermind, I found the forum on the zap2it site and the FAQ post states that the "Rebuild lineup" is temporary while they are reworking the lineup. I am going to use the one with the missing channels and I bet all the problems will go away. I also realized that uploading the MDB will be pointless now since I blew away all my channels and reloaded to fix my lineup.

Sub, check out the last two days in the I-xmltv.log, there was a DD lineup change with duplicate listings for the same channel.

valkokir,
Thanks for sharing the log!
You never know how error reporting and correction is going to work until after it’s had a field test. Can you see the big smile on my face over the internet! Smile Smile

Yep, you had a Data Direct (Zap2It) lineup change. The warning would have been displayed in the Zap2It* listings, in yesterday’s EPG.
“WARNING: Multiple channel mappings found, please adjust DataDirect lineup”

You probably fixed the lineup problem at Zap2It, because I see that todays log received different channel ID's, and then re-downloaded all the old “day.xml” files to adjust for the lineup change.

But I do not see (in the log), that –config.bat was run to update your xmltv channel listings? You defiantly want to do that step if you haven’t already. And emptyEPG / delete all channels / updateEPG in gbpvr config.

Please.please take a minute to update to the release version (1.0) of I-xmltv, and change xmltv.exe to the (older) version I suggest using with it.
It will give much better error reporting if you have a problem in the future.
And I updated the date formatting as you suggested.Wink

Jim
