I now can't find the thread where these were being discussed, were the following issues related to the new 97.7 & 97.9 (.net 2.0) version of the plugin?

1. Needing to go through the delete process twice before a recording will disappear from the list?
2. The reappearance of deleted items in lists, even after #1 and after hitting home to do a refresh?
3. Also a deleted item will disappear if one tries to play it.

thanks

There is a bug that keeps deleted recordings from being removed form the "what's new" list. They should be removed from the actual show list. Do you see them in there too?

With respect to point 3, that is by design. When going to play a file, if the plug-in finds that the file is no longer there it removes it from the list.

I am 95% positive that it happens while not in the What's New folder, but I'll make sure and get back to you...just don't have anything to delete at the moment.

Yes, it happens outside of what's new. In one case, there is a folder where deleted items were still there. I re-deleted them. Then I went to another folder, and did the same. When I hit the "Go" button, the deleted listings returned to both folders.

It seems like when a folder is emptied, then old recordings dont return if a new recording causes the folder to later reappear in the list. But where recordings are deleted from a folder that still has recordings in it, the deleted listing comes back.

Unforunately I forgot to verify this, but there does not seem to be a difference whether the listing/recording was archived yet or not.

Also I'm on SQLLite now.

Thanks

Can you send me the logs from your Jeff directory the next time you do this. If you press go it rescans the disk an should only list files that it finds on the disk. if they have been deleted they should not show up. The exception is the "What's new" entry where it pulls the info from the GBPVR database directly.

Sure. But as some of the logs are large, how can I cause a new log to be started and the current ones renamed as .old?

Also, I see a lot of access errors in the logs. I will try to conduct an experiment to see what happens to a file deleted unarchived (requiring a change to gbpvr.db3) versus one that has been archived (requiring a change to video archive .mdb?).

Lastly, does it matter if the file/listing is in What's New, even if the deletion is not attempted from within the what's new folder?

thanks again, I'll be back with the logs soon.

You can, if your like delete all the log files and start from scratch. In the newer versions almost all of the logs are converted into .old files when a new execution run starts, bt a few (I can't recall which) are not. It should not matter where you delete the file from (the What's new or the actual folder).

I can't recall if you've sent me your email address in the past, but if you send me a PM with one I will send you a copy of the latest and hopefully greatest verison that you might want to try.

I deleted all logs before this, then attached the only 2 that were generated.

I tried to delete 2 listings each from the Grey's Anatomy folder and the Colbert Report folder. Both of the underlying .mpg and related files have been long gone. I was able to delete the first listing in each list, then after deleting the second, both would return. I hit GO, and the files were still there.

I'll send you a pm as well.

thanks

Jeff-

I installed the 6/13 plugin from the wiki but that didn't fix the problem described in my last post.

Any other users that converted to gbpvr.db3 from gbpvr.mdb having this problem?

thanks

Hmm. Can you post your logs. I found a case where if the file was already missing the plug-in would not remove it from the list. I put in code that should have caught that case, although I did not test it to verify the fix. It should show up in the log.
