Hey guys,
I got sick of MCE so i formatted and installed XP Pro along with GB PVR since it does what MCE does but without bitching about drivers.
I got an HDTV Powercolor 700
AMD Athlon XP 2000
100Mbit network link (switched)
Server with 5TB on it (switched network port as well, no traffic)
I am feeding a 37" Sharp Aquos using a DVI cable.
Hauppauge PVR-500
System is running with a resolution of 1776x1000
Ok, now that the specs are out of the way.
I used to be able to play DVD rips directly off the server under MCE and for the most part it worked ok. When i try to play DVDS off the same box but with GBPVR it seems to be choking along the lines somewhere. The playback is very choppy but audio sounds fine.
GB PVR is consuming 99% of the system resources.
I get no issues playing back recorded TV shows or recording one show while watching another.
I have not yet tried copying a DVD to the box and playing it locally but i am in the process of doing that and will post the outcome.
Is anyone able to shed some insight in to this problem?
Joe
