Newbie here so please be gentle!!

I'm trying to setup GB-PVR to recognise my KWorld DVB-T 355U usb stick with no success Sad

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

I've added the following to bda.ini:

[KWorld DVB-T 355U]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=BDA 2870 TVTuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=USB 2870 Device
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

When i click 'Only Show devices detected in this machine' in setup then it shows this card in the list but when i try to Map the channels i get the attached error.

I've also attached a screenshot from Graph Edit

Can anyone help?

(and assuming your Device is plugged in and works with the manufacturers supplied software...)

Works with supplied software and also MyTheatre

Quote:In the graphedit picture you need to click on 'BDA 2870 TVTuner' and then click 'Insert filter', then do it again for 'USB 2870 Device'.

Now compare the PIN names above to what you see, hopefully the missmatch will be immediately obvious. If it isn't try searching the registry for the pin names to see if there are trailing blanks (you may find them all over the registry, finding the correct reference may be hard)

Right well i've compared them and found no differences so i guess its off to search the registry then. Thanks.

I've also attached the graphedit screen in case its of any use!

Hi,

I was wondering if you managed to get this working.

I have just bought one of these from ebuyer and have found the software that comes with it flaky to say the least.

I don't know if i should have a look at mediaportal instead?

Thanks,

Heads up, i've just got my Kworld 355U working with GBPVR

I used the following bda.ini section but the trick is to uninstall the software that's provided (Just the software, you should realise that you have to keep the device driver!). I haven't bothered to do an absolute confirmation but I think the problem is that it installs a recording service of its own for scheduling and this seems to hook the driver such that when you scan in config, config scans but finds no channels.

After I uninstalled the software (largely because I broke it by trying to patch it with the latest update patch from Kworld), channels popped up in the scan.

[KWorld DVB-T 355U]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=BDA 2870 TVTuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=USB 2870 Device
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Cheers. I'll include in the master file.

In fairness, that's also the bda.ini file section that the original poster has, the important bit is to remove the Kworld recording scheduler. Having said this, I did experience a "no signal" moment later on but unplugging and replugging in the USB device seemed to cure this. I'm only playing on this laptop though, bored in a hotel where i'm only offered 4 UK channels even though there's a DVB-T capable feed which is why i'm using the Kworld thing for the first time.

Fortunately my "real" PVR is at home doing it's proper job Smile
