This must be my day! Not only have I got video archive working I seem to have fixed by stutter problem when playing high bitrate recordings through the mvp. I applied tcpip optimization patch from hauppauge and changed NIC to force 100 half duplex. This was suggested here:

I'm not sure if either one of these alone could have done the job but I've since transcoded a dvd to mpg and played it without problems.

One last question. Is there a way to rip multiple episodes of a dvd automatically using this plugin?

No, sorry. I do these "by hand" when I need to.
