You can put the dongle in the correct folder then specify which one you want to use via the config app. No need to rename it anymore.

Does anyone have a organized collection of dongle.bin files that they would be willing to post?
The new dropdown for dongle.bin in config files is great! The problem (for me anyhow) is that I've lost track of which file I'm using because, up until the dropdown was avaialble, I kept renaming the files to the same name: "dongle.bin". Thanks.

AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7. Quote:Does anyone have a organized collection of dongle.bin files that they would be willing to post? I do, but post where? These things are 1.4 to 2.4MB EACH. I have 16 of them. The list in the WIKI is from my PC. However, the full set is 28MB+, so I can't host it anywhere (well I could BUT I am unsure of copyright infringements posting parts of things...). If you PM me, perhaps we can work something out. k. [EDIT]You probably do NOT need the really early versions. A few dongles should see you through. If I had to pick 4 to play around with, I'd choose (gbmvp BETA aside). 24_23096 25_23209 30_24088 32_24110

Quote:How do I get the latest dongle.bin? They do not come as a separate file, per se. They are included in the Hauppage MediaMVP Software. However (as noted in the WIKI http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FAQ/MVP) the dongle.bin files can be extracted FROM the Hauppage MediaMVP Software, which is an (openable) exe file, using Winzip or similar. The latest official versions are here: http://www.hauppage.com/pages/support/su...iamvp.html Sometimes that offiical page ALSO has BETA versions. You can also get them directly from here ftp://ftp.hauppauge.com/Support/MediaMVP/ ftp://ftp.hauppauge.com/Support/MediaMVP/Beta/ <= These are Beta Detailed discussions on various dongle.bin versions are often held in the SHSPVR Forum, at this board: http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?board=41.0 Quote:Do I just rename it and put it in the correct folder?Yes. Rename it Dongle_XXXX.bin and put it in the Dongle Directory. You only really need to rename it so as NOT to overwrite the existing version. It will then appear in the drop down menu in the GBPVR config. I have found that it must be prefixed by the word Dongle i.e. XXXX_Dongle.bin did not work for me. Once chosen (and OK clicked) in the config, do NOT FORGET to power cycle the MediaMVP to load the chosen dongle.bin. I have found the later versions e.g. 32_24110 take a while to load the dongle initially, but are then quite quick at contacting the server thereafter. Some of the naming conventions leave a lot to be desired. Some more on Dongles can be Found in the WIKI and in these threads (amongst others). http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...iaMVP+beta http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...iaMVP+beta http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...dongle.bin HTH k. |
