I wanted to thank everyone who suggested that I install the Microsoft Net framework. I am not used to having to install one program before I can install another one, but that seems to have fixed the problem, and now gbpvr installs just fine. I am very impressed with all of the ways you can customize choices and behaviors in the program.
Unfortunately, I still can't get it to run. I remember reading that it supposedly supports V-stream cards.
Anyone know if a Kworld card with a Conexant 878a chipset should work? I don't see it in the list, nor do I see any sort of chipset list or generic to try. From what I've seen of this program, I think I would truly prefer it over the WinDVR 3 software that I had just about ordered yesterday. However, it all hinges on whether or not there is even the possibility that it would work with my card.
I've also heard that a Kworld HDTV tuner card is available for about $70. Will the gbpvr software work with something like that? If it comes down to a choice between plunking down $70 for a new copy of WinDVR 3, and plunking down $70 for a new HDTV tuner card, I think I'd rather get the TV Tuner card for my money.
