I upgraded from 97.09 to 97.13 last night. I am no longer getting dvr-ms files from my ATSC cards. If I get anything, I get a 0 byte file ending with the .mpg extension, most often when I cancel the recording. I can still view live TV on my digital channels, but not record to dvr-ms.

I also attempted to use the installed Cyberlink MUX to get .mpg files, which still causes recordings that do not stop at the end of the recording period.

Logs attached.

I can certainly see something bizarre in your logs. Those items I've highlighted below shouldnt be present during a recording. This is more like a live tv graph than a recording graph.

I've checked here, and dvr-ms seems to be working fine for me, but I'm using DVB-C and DVB-S. It might be a bug that only affects ATSC.

Is there any other ATSC users that could confirm if they're having this problem?

I know that the AC3filter and ATI Cyberlink decoder have been in the graphs under 97.09. I can't recall seeing the DirectSound Device before.

They shouldnt have been. This effectively means its trying to play the video and audio, rather than record it.

I'm having the same problem after I upgraded to 97.13. When I record with DVR-MS I get an Active Movie Window behind my GBPVR screen that shows the program I'm trying to record.

Transport Stream seems to work although it never did before. I'd rather stick with dvr-ms since it's been the most reliable.

I'm using:
XP SP2, Dvico Fusion5 Lite, PVR 250
Intel 2.8GHZ, 1GB RAM

OK, I started adding and removing things. I got rid of the ATI decoder and replaced with a GPL decoder. I also uninstalled the AC3Filter. Now I am no longer pulling in the DirectSound Device which both the ATI decoder and the AC3Filter wanted. I still am not producing a recording file until I stop the recording when I get a 0 byte file.

Alex9k, before I started making changes, our graphs appeared very similar. Thanks for posting.

Sub, new logs attached. Thanks!

I still can not get 97.13 to work. I uninstalled and deleted the denz folder. I did a fresh install of 97.13 and got the same results. the graph plays the file instead of recording it. I get a 0k mpg file that only appears when I cancel the recording. I have DVR-MS as the mux in the config app. I went back to 96.12 and it all works.

David, did you get yours working?

DVR-MS still seems to be fine with DVB-C and DVB-S, which is what I have here, so probably only a ATSC related bug.

I'm not in a position to test anything ATSC related myself, but if you're willing to help out with the testing of any such fix, email me at support@devnz.com and I'll make a patch available to you.

I have deleted and installed various decoders, filters, muxes, etc. to no avail. I had planned a full windows re-install this weekend, time permitting.

I would be very willing to help debug. I will install a patch. I will grant you access to my system if you want to remote in.

I know we are a minority, and I don't want to take up your time, but there must be others having these problems that are not posting. I appreciate anything you do that might help to resolve this problem.
