Sub,

Been running the new version since you released it, everything is working great, recordings now happen even in Live TV, the guide is amazingly fast, props on a great release. Had a slight issue today though. Was watching a recorded program, and during the recording, GB-PVR just crashed and gave the "This program was forced to shut down, sorry for the inconvenience" message box. I checked the logs (attached) and I can't find any error messages in there, but the event log shows a .net runtime error which I copied and pasted into a text file which is also attached. It appears to be something in the D3D9.dll file, so not sure if it was something caused by GB-PVR or just a hiccup in directx.

Also on a side note, I had a couple of failed recordings from the prior release in the DB, and now when I try to delete them in the recordings menu, it pauses for a couple of seconds, then just drops back to the recordings menu, and it won't delete them. Anything I can do to remove them from the list? Thanks again for an awesome release.

That's interesting. I had just the same thing, couldn't delete them after the upgrade. I don't think I have ever had failed recordings. I had to use SQLite Database Browser to delete the entries.

k.
[EDIT] I also had a show conflict where I couldn't delete the entry, so I deleted it with SQLIte Browser. However when the EPG updated, the error came back again, and again I couldn't delete it, at least not using EWA.

I had the same problem in the last release - a recording I set didn't occurr, so tried to delete it, and it wouldnt go away. (although it was pending for a point in the past) (cant rememer why it didnt record as planned - probably user error)

I found that stopping / starting the recording service fixed it, and allowed me to remove the entry.

Thanks

Sub,

The crash happened again while watching a recorded program. Event log shows another dll file this time though. Attaching the logs.

Sorry, I dont really know. I cant see any error in your logs relating to it, and I've not seen any other reports of it.

Unfortunately its not reproduceable either. I have watched 4-5 recorded programs today and it only happened twice, and not at the same time point in the programs either. I did notice on the second crash that the message box came up, but the video was still playing behind, with no sound. Could a problem in decoders cause something like this? I would hate to start messing with them as I found a pretty good combination that gives me great picture quality.

I also had this problem too.
I found that using PVAstrumento to analyse and "make ps" the file fixed it - I think it's an audio timeline problem.

It may not be related at all - but it fixed a file which kept on crashing when I played it - same symptoms, video playing in b/g - no audio, GBPVR has to close.
So I ran the file through PVAstrumento, and then using the output file, I renamed it to be the same as the old file and copied over the top - GB then played it back fine.

Does the problem always happen on the same files?

Thanks

JonnyCam,

I don't know. Both crashes occured on recordings I made the day before, and I haven't had a chance to replay them after. I will see if they are still on the computer (hopefully the wife didn't delete them since they were already watched hehe). Thanks for the advice on PVAstrumento, I will see if the files both crash again and then try that out!

I posted a patch that should correct this: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post125978
