Thanks Fred! I'll have another go when I get a chance, as it's clearly something other than my bda.ini setup.

What version of the drivers are you running btw?

Did it locate any signal when you tried Chris Day's scanning utility?

I did try the scanning utility and it didn't find anything apparently. I think we talked about it earlier in the thread.

Hi gregsmith,

I use driver version 1.0.3.0 (2006-01-23 )
Think I got them from twinhan driver site, but I'm not sure.

Good luck!

I finally got it working! I tried the settings from fred and it made no difference. On the twinhan website there was twinhandtv 2.63 that came with the 1.0.2.8 bda driver. This was also the bda driver available in the bda driver section next to the twinhan magic box pro model.

I think when fred got the driver they had 1.0.3.0 up and must have retracted it or something because it definitely wasn't available a coupla weeks ago. I checked today and found the same situ apart from twinhandtv 2.64 was available. I installed it and lo and behold, the 1.0.3.0 bda driver was now installed as well.

I ran re-register filters and kicked it off scanning with fred's settings and it worked.

To re-iterate, these were the settings:
Code:
[Twinhan MagicBox pro]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=DTV-DVB USB Hybrid Digital
FILTER_CAPTURE=DTV-DVB M9207 Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I'd like to thank you for the support you've given me and I hope this thread will be useful to others.

Hi gregsmith,

Happy you got it working. I've later realized I got my 1.0.3.0 drivers off Pinnacle's. I examined the 2.64 package from Twinhan and it seem to be exactly the same as those I have execept I've got an extra .inf for Pinnacle PCTV310i.

Hey, Fred, was just wondering if you've managed to get the analogue side of things working at all? My reception is bad and some channels I can only get the analogue version.

I think I've read somewhere on these forums that gbpvr doesn't support hybrid functions well.

For analog TV, GB-PVR requires a hardware MPEG-2 encoder to be present. Hybrids like the Hauppauge HVR-1300 have the required hardware encoder on their analog side so work fine. Unfortunately your Magicbox does not, so the analog side cant be used by GB-PVR.

I should mention that the analog side of your device may be usable with the plugin from http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=2753

Hi Guys,

I've been following this discussion and implementing the recomendations on my new 310e. Any advances on getting the analogue channels working? I installed softwarerecorder but got lost. I assume this is done in the GBPVR setup:

Launch GB-PVR config, and add the 'WDM Software Encoder Recorder',
select settings and choose your video and audio input sources.
Continue your recording source configuration as normal.

But thats where I got lost.

Callum

PS. YEP, I'm a Noobie.
