I tried installing GB-PVR on my computer, but during the installation an error popped up about "GBPVRwriter.ax"

I also installed GB-PVR on another machine and it worked fine. The machine it didn't work on is running XP media center edition, the one it did work on is running XP pro.

Is there any off hand reason why it shouldn't work on one computer, but it does on my other comp?

Nothing springs to mind. Just run the ReRegisterFilters.bat and it should fix it up.

I have also had this problem - I went to do an install of 98.8 on a machine I was going to use as a client (win2k pro, as is my main gbpvr machine) and three filters failed (I selected "ignore" during the install). Running ReRegisterFilters.bat also had problems with the same filters.

From the windows event log:
Product: GB-PVR -- Error 1904. Module D:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVRWriter.ax failed to register

as did vGBPVRFlowStatus.ax and netasyncflt.ax

any ideas?

cheers,

You'd usually get this error if you dont have .net 2.0 installed.

I knew there would be a simple answer Smile I reinstalled the second computer from scratch a couple of months ago and obviously forgot the update.

thanks sub.

is it possible for the installer to check for the existence of the prerequisite .NET 2.0 ao avoid these errors/user confusion? (i've been using gbpvr for a while now, and finally got around to upgrading and got bit by this as well)
thanks,

The version of Wise Installer that I use is only able to check for the existance of .net 1.0 or .net 1.1. Its not able to check for the existance of .net 2.0.
